Hi again..One of the things you learn turning 68 is that it's guaranteed your time is nearly run out. Sure, maybe some 15 or 20 so yrs of existing left but for the average blue collar person to be able to ride a dual-sport motorbike, camping and yes hang-gliding and a lot of other stuff, those activities are surely soon not available, probably very soon for concreters, brick-layers etc. I like to indulge in more varied activities while I can but since I still cannot shake my hang-gliding urge-this was my compromise because I will probably always be not current. Started with a long slow tow (turns out downwind) then found one of the strongest, yet smoothest thermals after releasing. Kept waiting for it to get nasty but never did. Fast climb to 12,600' !!! As the day went on, conditions slowed down. Beautiful sky to enjoy. Wind picked up for landing, thought it was a big cycle that would stop, never did I landed short Really nice 150 mile FAI. Started out like a great looking day. On the way to the 2nd turnpoint some muck came in and slowed things down. Bad line and or poor decisions put me on the deck 35 miles after the 2nd turnpoint. Martin showed how it was done and made it home! Mia was there with a streamer (to show me no wind) and an LZ picked out.
