Hello! For the geometry attached in the video, the current motion you can see is obtained by applying certain forces. How can I use displacement as an input to obtain the same motion/deformation? Can I provide the coordinates of the body's centerline across time as an input? Can I use the surface displacement across time as an input? Basically I want to get the same motion using displacement as an input rather than forces. I'd really appreciate any leads
Thank You :)

Hi everyone,
I'm working on meshing about 30,000 rectangular surfaces using Workbench. Here are the settings I'm using:
Linear finite elements
Mesh size: 0.5m
Automatic method with quad dominance (I want to minimize triangulated meshes)
All other parameters are set to their default values
However, I'm encountering issues with mesh quality. There are many attached elements that I can't explain. I've checked these areas and found no particular singularities.
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a model that has more nodes with less elements will it take longer than another if the element shapes and sizes are the same. An example of this is a hollow bar has more nodes but less elements.

Is there a way to see a load multiplier result for scaling one of many loads in a model? I have a constant dead load and want to see buckling results for scaling a separate lateral load while keeping the dead load constant

Hello, i have a cfd simulation between a solid and a fluid, the heat flux applied on the surface of the solid is a heat flux that i need to get from another simulation of heat transfer between solids, whatever the final solid temperature is will be sent back to the first simulation in mechanical (cooling simulation). how can i do that? note that the fluid does not cover the entire surface of the solid in contact

I'm trying to plot a LS steam turbine blade. I'm using coordinates from a txt document to form points and then connecting those points with the 3D curve command. After I do that I make a surface body to form a profile and then I try and skin/loft 2 profiles together. The 4 previous lofts were successful as you can see from the picture but the last one is bugging me. Does anyone know any solution to this?

Is it possible to create a material that changes its properties as a function of time (in transient thermal analysis) and not as a function of temperature? I'm quite new to Ansys and didn't find a way to do so neither in Workbench nor in Mechanical. There are two ways I could implement those properties. Either as a function of time (with time in seconds) or as a table (resolution of 1s should be sufficient). The process I want to simulate has a duration of 60 seconds. Any help is welcome! Thanks!

I'm doing my thesis using mechanical (static analysis - fatigue). Although the models are shell elements (around 100k-200k elements) it still needs more than 32 GB of RAM. What is the proper/best setup for the out-of-core analysis? Distributed on/off? Hybrid parallel on/off? Workspace database memory?
I tried the DSOPTION,,OUTOFCORE but the solution information still shows me “There is not enough memory for the Distributed sparse solver used by the PCG solver to proceed using the out-of-core memory mode. Memory required = 38000 MB. Physical memory available = 29445 MB” I have read the user gu ..read more
