As Scott van Pelt said tonight, "The charade is over."
The NCAA and power 5 conferences reached an agreement to pay players directly. They will pay players going back to 2016. Payout will be $2.7B over the next 10 years. All current lawsuits need to be dropped. More details to come but it looks like athletes are getting paid going forward.
I wonder how this impacts NIL? I assume NIL is still there for the top athletes.  ..read more

It will be voted on in April, but a few changes proposed for 2024 are...
-Helmet Communication like the NFL. It would cut off at 15 seconds on play clock or at snap.
-2-minute warning at the end of each half.
-Tablets used to watch/review plays in real-time on the sidelines. A limit of 18 for sideline and coaching booth would be in place.
Everyone like or dislike these proposals ..read more

Well with the loss to Clemson yesterday the Cats finished 2023 at 7-6. Going into the 2024 season it should one of the most exciting for the SEC and college football in a number of years. The schedule for 2024 is a little different and I think a bit tougher than this seasons schedule. While they do not have to play Alabama next season, they pickup Texas on the road and add Ole Miss. instead of Miss. State. I think that Ole Miss. will be ranked in the top 5 preseason with what they have returning. They also have Auburn instead of Missouri. Their 3 non-conference games other than the annual Loui ..read more
