Conroe Fishing Report May 29, 2024 GOOD. Water stained; 80 degrees; 0.36 feet above pool. Catfish are outstanding with many reports of limits being caught on bulkheads and on ledges and humps and rocks using Catfish Bubblegum, worms, liver, shad, and punch bait. Crappie have been hit-or-miss. There are some being caught but overall numbers are still down. Largemouth are good up shallow early and late. May 22, 2024 GOOD. Water stained; 77 degrees; 0.36 feet above pool. Catfish are setting up to spawn and the bite is outstanding! Look for structure on ledges or humps. Some trophy fish have been caught with the eaters. A good area to look for trophy and eater cats would be on the inlets as the waters pour in. Hybrids are biting on points and humps 18 to 25 feet. Largemouth bass are doing well on offshore structure and bream beds. The lake is waking up for the season. Be safe and a little courtesy goes a long way. Until we can get out on the water this is what we believe the fish will be doing. Catfish should be staging to spawn after the water settles. Look for structure holding bait. Lots of reports from the early bulkhead bite to deep water baited holes all catching great numbers and decent size on Catfish Bubblegum, liver, worms, shad, punch bait, and just about anything else that folks put together. Mar 27, 2024 GOOD. Water stained; 66 degrees; 0.13 feet above pool. Largemouth bass seem to be on spawning beds. Seeing some very skinny fish lately that are likely spawned out and had many reports of a lesser bite this past week. Catfish have been good. Finding fish shallow and deep on Catfish Bubblegum, liver, worms, and punch bait. Trophy class and eaters have been steady drifting natural baits along humps, ledges, and flats.
