kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart are eyeing Hamburg’s Robert Glatzel as a potential replacement for Sehrou Guirassy if he leaves the club in the summer. The future of striker Guirassy is still up in the air as he has begun to attract interest from Borussia Dortmund and has shown no signs of commitment to the Bundesliga’s Vizemeister. So, Stuttgart have begun to look at potential replacements for the 28 year old.  Hamburg’s Glatzel is one of the candidates to replace Guirassy. It is said a year ago, Stuttgart had reached an agreement with Glatzel to move to the MHP Arena but he decid ..read more

On Monday evening, VfL Bochum overcame Fortuna Düsseldorf 3-0 at the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA and then 6-5 on penalties to remain in the Bundesliga. Heading into the clash in Düsseldorf, there was significantly little expectation that Bochum would be a Bundesliga club at the end of the night. In fact, the hosts were so confident in a promotion back to Germany’s top flight that the party atmosphere was taking place prior to kick-off. Having outplayed their Bundesliga competitors away from home last Thursday, rather than Bochum being able to mount a comeback, there was more expectation that Fortuna wo ..read more

Sky Germany reports that Stefan Kuntz is set to return to German football as Hamburg’s new Director of Sport, replacing the outgoing Jonas Boldt. Boldt is set to have his contract at Hamburg terminated, which was set to expire next summer. Earlier in the season, Boldt decided to part ways with head coach Tim Walter and replace him with Steffen Baumgart, which saw no improvement in the team’s performance and they missed out on promotion.  Hamburg finished the season 4th five points off of Fortuna Düsseldorf in the relegation playoff spot. To make matters worse, city rivals St.Pauli we ..read more

However, what Der Rekordmeister will feel most agitated by is the way in which Bayer Leverkusen have romped their way to a maiden Bundesliga title ..read more

Bild reports on the plan that Felix Magath has concocted if he is to become Hamburg’s sporting director and replace Jonas Boldt. The future of Boldt is in doubt with Hamburg on the verge of missing promotion once again, while the decision to sack Tim Walter and replace him with Steffen Baumgart has backfired. This has resulted in rumours about Jörg Schmadtke or Magath replacing him. If Magath does take charge, he has a plan in place. It has now been six years since Hamburger SV last tasted Bundesliga football. The former six-time German champions and one-time former European champions seem to be embroiled in an eternal battle against promotion back to Germany’s top flight. In the past five seasons, only twice have HSV finished in the promotion play-off, coming in the previous two campaigns as their return to the Bundesliga began edging nearer. Regardless, a fourth-place finish seems to be almost certain this season, with the club handing over what appeared to be an almost guaranteed promotion play-off spot to Fortuna Düsse ..read more
