I’m looking at trying to book a Black Bear hunt(Archery) this year for myself and maybe one other. I would like to do a baited hunt, if possible. We typically hunt public ground and are looking to change it up this year. AR, OK, GA, etc.. open to traveling for a well-respected operation.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations or experience with anyone specific ..read more

For those that harvested a bear last year, I would be curious about your stand set up. For example for me:
Walmart ladder stand a little less that 20 yards from bait, shot sitting down with crossbow on shooting rail.
(My interest in this question is about upping my challenge with compound bow - maybe someday ground blind.)
Interested who has shot from ground blind, shot compound from seated position, shot from box blind...just...

The primary draw application period for Colorado big-game licenses opens March 1, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) urges hunters to review the changes in license requirements and fees in the 2024 Colorado Big Game brochure.
To begin, big-game license allocation for bear, deer, elk, and pronghorn has been changed from 65% for residents and 35% for nonresidents to 75% for residents and 25% for nonresidents. High-demand hunt codes stay at 80% for residents and 20% for nonresidents...

I'll apply for Kansas as always, Colorado PP's I imagine for mule deer, antelope and elk. I put in no where else.
I'm considering finding/paying for a DIY private ranch access hunt in western Texas for mule deer. We'll see if that happens.

Has anyone heard from the AGFC regarding their bear? I'm just curious about how old mine was. I have no idea how long it takes to hear back.
I did get a nifty sticker, but that's been all.
