I recently bought a switch to turn off the passenger airbags to be able to use a child seat on my 2000 Boxster 986 S, that should be functioning the same way as the original Porsche airbag deactivation bar for 986/996. Without having the Child seat occupancy setting activated the airbag light lit up when having the passenger airbags switched off (the same as connecting a buckle to a deactivation bar). I love this thing. But even so, I have a small list of issues I need to fix. 1999 Boxster Base. 68,000 miles. Just bought it from a private party. The spoiler doesn't seem to go up when driving over 75 MPH. I can't be sure of this, but when parked and using the footwell switch the noise of it going up is fairly loud. I'd think I'd hear it when driving. Can you see it in the rear view mirror when driving? The driver's side (USA) mirror doesn't work with the adjustment switch. Passenger works fine. Funnily enough, I never cared at all about Porsches before, but this is already my favorite car I've ever own, by far, and I've owned quite a few. Hi All, I have my 986 looking at me, and I was wondering what it would take to build a 986 speedster. I know there is the Tune RS kit, but that is £17000 in this country and not applicable... I don't want to cut mine up, as its a 2 owner low miles factory optioned car, BUT... Boxster S 2001 has the 3.2L engine. 56k miles. Check engine light codes that are showing up as listed. P1130 P1126 P1133. At first I thought this was an O2 sensor issue but now I believe it could be more serious. Looked through the owners manual and there was no information explaining these codes.
