Converting PAL to NTSC

Has anyone here ever had to convert a PAL video file to NTSC? It appears I might wind up using a PAL camcorder for an event, but would need to convert it to NTSC to render the finished product to an MP4 video file (no, the operating system of the camera isn't selectable). I think my editing software does it (hoping to experiment with the camera soon), but if not there are software options to employ. I'm just curious as to how much of a hit (if any) do you take in quality from the... Converting PAL to NTSC ..read more

Focus and zoom not working on JVC GZ-MG130U

I have something weird going on with my JVC GZ-MG130U camcorder. I used it Saturday and it worked fine. But I tried to use it a few days later and now it won't focus and sometimes won't zoom. Whether the lens cover is open or closed, I get the lens cover warning when I turn it on. The book mentions something about manually adjusting the focus and zoom on the camera, but it very vague in telling how to do that. I contacted a rep with JVC and recommended I manually change those settings... Focus and zoom not working on JVC GZ-MG130U ..read more

Panasonic HC-V720 Blues display as Green

New to forum, so let me know if this should be posted elsewhere. I use the 720 to record billiard matches at the club I play at. We recently changed out the green felt for blue. However, when reviewing my first recordings on the new tables they appear to be more green than blue. The only adjustment I've made to my settings is to reduce the amount of light coming in. I've found a setting That has an R to the left and a B to the right with a green bar set in the middle. Is this where I... Panasonic HC-V720 Blues display as Green ..read more

Can't get Mini DV Camcorder to work

Hi all, I recently dug out my old Mini DV Panasonic NV EX1, charged it up, and attempted to use it. First I tried loading some old cassettes that I know have been recorded onto, however when I load them in and switch to VHS playback mode, all I get is a blank screen, and can't rewind/fast forward tape or play either. Additionally, when loading a blank tape and trying to record all I get is a 'PAUSE' atthe top of the screen, and can't record (nothing happens when I press the record button)... Why does standard definition video equipment not depreciate

I understand this might come off as begging or like I want cheap **** (i do, don't get me wrong) but I cannot understand why Betacam SX ENG cameras and players are still $500+ used. Clearly theres a market for it, but I really can't imagine serious videographers are scooping up 4:3 standard definition equipment when a DSLR + kit lens can do an arguably better job than even the highest quality standard def camera. Is there something I'm missing ..read more

Hello! My name is Robert. I recently rediscovered an old Panasonic NV-GS24EG that my father used back in 2010s to record special memories. I was using the playback option to see old videos of myself and my family and thinking if there is a way to acces them on a computer. After searching (almost) everywhere on the internet for drivers and such things, it looks like this model does not support transfering files to a computer. Could you please tell me if there is any other way to acces these... Transfering files from old Panasonic ..read more

Camcorder with large LCD screen

As the title says, I'm looking for a camcorder with a large LCD screen. Back in the "good old days", the screens were typically 3.5 to 4 inches. These days it seems they're all 2.7 to 3 inches, unless you get up into the pro broadcast cameras. And for these tired old eyes, the extra screen size makes a huge difference. My current device is a JVC Everio GZ-GX1 that has a 3.5" screen. It recently developed a problem, so I'm looking for a replacement. I've searched around for a refurbished one... Hello Folks! I've got a Sony AX53 that I mount on a 20 foot tripod to record sporting events. I would love to use a single power brick for the camera and accessories.. The problem is I can't seem to find a 25 foot power cable with a plug that fits the camera's dc-in port. Does such a thing exist? Thanks ..read more
