Hi there, I am young guy, inexperienced hunter, looking to get into bow hunting. I have never been on a hunt, but the traditional style of bow hunting resonates with me. Walk and stalk. I am not interested in hunting with a gun - the less tech the better! I also don't like the idea of hunting from a blind/hide with bait. Fair chase. I am hoping to get some advice and direction. I have no gear, other than my 30lb recurve which I am a pretty good shot with in the garden. I am based in Joburg... New hunter, looking for partner ..read more

Some pictures and a video of my daughters hunt in Namibia, from June of 2018. She was shooting her BowTech Eva Shockey, set at 50 lbs. We both shoot GrizzlyStik arrows, and on this trip hers were topped with 200 grain single bevel, Cutthroat broadheads. That setup was lethal on her animals. The impala, 20 yards, quartering to her. Arrow hit in the left front shoulder, passed all the way through, exited out the opposite side, jumped over the water trough and fell over. The kudo, fifteen... Daughters hunt in Namibia ..read more

We're in the beginning stages of planning a south Africa trip. Game included wildebeest, blesbok, springbok, Impala and warthog. I'm looking to have her at 50# 530gr arrow at 200fps 45#ke coc 2 blade. I'm fairly sure this setup will be completely adequate. My question is are there laws in SA that would prevent this and also do outfitters ever not allow light weight setups. I've done some online research and will obviously be in contact with the outfitter, but trip won't be till 2025 so... Wife's SA setup ..read more
