On Tuesday residents gave feedback to Greenwich Communities (formerly the Housing Authority) on “Ferris Landing,” a 48-unit, all affordable, residential development proposed on 2.7 acres in Cos Cob.
The property features a town-owned surface parking lot for the Cos Cob train station.
Much of the development would be over that parking lot, and include a second level of parking for residents, plus two stories of residential units. But the building and parking would push into a wooded area and embankment along I95.

At the May 14 Greenwich Planning & Zoning meeting, the commission voted to deny an application from Catherine and Brett Staffieri to redivide 40 Ridgeview and 0 Ridgeview.
Specifically the homeowners sought to create a developable lot in the front of the property which features woods and a steep slope.

Greenwich Mill Rate
The final step in the annual budget process took place this week when the Board of Estimate and Taxation set the town’s mill rate for the coming fiscal year.
In a debrief on WGCH 1490 am on Wednesday BET chair Harry Fisher said, “We set a general fund tax rate of 11.712 mills. That’s dollars per thousand of assessed valuation, which is a 2.8% increase.”
He said for people in the sewer district, where there is a tax for sewer maintenance and sewer improvement, the total tax rate will be 11.936.

The Greenwich Planning & Zoning commission voted on May 14 to approve an application for a 6-story, 120-unit affordable housing development under the state’s affordable housing statute 8-30g.
The development is considered “Assisted Housing” since the Town’s affordable Housing Trust Board issued a conditional commitment letter providing financial assistance.
The applicant was Nimbus Realty. The developer is Philip Wharton.
