The Dumbarton Oaks Museum and Garden, located in Georgetown, Washington, D.C, was established as a residence in 1801 and after being passed along to several owners was eventually gifted in 1940 to Harvard University, the current owner. Greenville, South Carolina's downtown area is built around a gorgeous waterfall. The park has walkways on both sides of the river and pedestrian bridges that cross it. It's a really beautiful area.
