Vallejo teacher who allegedly dragged student on video had prior abuse allegations

VALLEJO – A substitute teacher who was arrested last week for allegedly dragging a student out of a classroom at Elite Public Schools had faced two prior allegations of abuse, including an incident earlier this year when he allegedly dragged a student at another Vallejo school by the arm.  Vallejo police confirmed that Noah Dove, 40, turned himself in on May 21 and was cooperating with officers. Solano County jail booking logs show Dove was arrested on suspicion of a felony charge of corporal injury on a child. Police union president sues Vallejo after federal lawsuit fails

VALLEJO – Vallejo’s police union and its president filed a lawsuit in state court earlier this month based on similar allegations of civil rights violations that the union claimed in a federal lawsuit that a judge dismissed last month. The new lawsuit, filed in Solano County Superior Court, alleges that Vallejo city officials and councilmembers planned to force the implementation of police reforms over union objections by targeting union president Michael Nichelini with a series of disciplinary actions that culminated in his termination in 2021. VALLEJO – The Vallejo City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to confirm the appointment of former Pinole City Manager Andrew Murray as Vallejo’s next permanent city manager.  Murray will begin work Monday, April 20, for an initial term of 24 months with an annual salary of $303,000.  Murray’s appointment went smoothly and quickly, with no discussion among council or objections from the public.  Discussion on topics at Tuesday’s city council meeting highlighted Vallejo’s need for steady leadership. VALLEJO — A construction company continues to use a piece of Vallejo's waterfront, despite a lack of permits that would allow it to do so. The Historic Sperry Mill site on the southern Vallejo waterfront has been in limbo ever since General Mills, Inc. ceased operations in 2004.
