Well we had to spend some time in the shelter this weekend and I learned something, the dogs do NOT want to go up and down those stairs. The tornado probably would have hit before I got them and myself down there(thank God it was a mile North of us) So I have something new to work on this week but want some ideas. First the stairs don't have any back(no risers) to them so its just wood treads all the way down. That freaks them out going up because they can see through but going down... Does anyone have any experience with this type of surgery? My dog developed an infection in the bone attached to the nail of the medial toe on her left foot. It had to amputated two days ago. I'm curious what others may have experienced for recovery from this. At first, it appeared to be a skin infection. It started on June 29th with the toe swelling and her showing some lameness, we started Epsom salt soaks with iodine. Had her seen by an on call vet on the 30th when it was worse... I get very frustrated when I see a small field brutally cut. Trying to get to a certain % of dogs to a certain part of a stake seems very counterproductive to me. I think generally we have good people all over the county who work hard, run hard and give plenty back to the sport. I just wish a little more consideration is given to the field.
