Hi Is the RX 6750 XT still a decent graphics card for gaming at 1440p. As looking for one at round £300, that will do the job well. Looking to pair it up with a Ryzen 5 7600x and 32gb DDR5 ..read more

Hello, I built a PC around 2.5 years ago mainly to use as a Linux desktop. I've occasionally used it for light gaming though via Steam. It doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, only integrated graphics. I'd quite like to play a game I stumbled across (https://store.steampowered.com/app/715560/Eastshade) and I think this is going to need a dedicated graphics card. I don't have much budget at the moment so I was looking for some advice about how much I need to spend to allow me to... Read more ..read more

Hello, I've been doing some Firestrike Extreme benchmarks on my 3080 vs my old 1080 Ti. im only getting ~36% improvement albeit synthetic (20,889 vs 15,301) i was expecting > 50% improvement, however i do only have 1 x 16GB DDR4 3200, vs 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600, which i plan on replacing with a new 32GB kit for dual channel. Can anyone help me with some trouble shooting ? I've changed NVIDIA control panel to prefer maximum performance already. 3080 + Ryzen 3900... Read more ..read more

As the old thread had become a wretched hive of scum and villainy, this is a new thread for discussion of Ray Tracing. Occasionally my 480 drops down to 640x480 greyscale windows mode, requiring a driver install. PC randomly crashes, sometimes its fine for weeks another it could crash every 5 minutes, a dozen times so I give up and come back to it next week and then it's fine. Now when PC is switched on I get a black screen and fan stays at 100%. I tried back panel cmos reset just in case it was corrupted bios settings, didn't solve it. I'm not a heavy gamer, so could pickup used 5600XT and should be... Read more ..read more

4060Ti Vs 4070 with a Z370 running 8700-K

Would I be correct in saying that a 4070 12GB is going to be pretty pointless vs a 4060Ti 8GB running on a Z370 based board with an 8700-K? Trying to get an optimum mid-range GPU for this setup so as not to waste any of the spend. I currently have a MSI 4070 Bentus 3x E 12G sat waiting in a locker for collection, but it dawned on me that I think this will get throttled and I've ordered a ASUS 4060Ti 8GB instead, at £125 cheaper. It's a build for a kid who won't fully appreciate or need... Read more ..read more
