SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A state representative from southwest Missouri is calling on Springfield to reconsider its gay pride event scheduled this weekend. Ozarks Pridefest is billed as a family-friendly celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, but state representative Jamie Gragg said he's concerned that some parts of the event -- like drag performances -- are not appropriate for children. BRANSON, Mo. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project office at Table Rock Lake is reminding property owners of the policy around removing dead and damaged trees following recent storms that knocked down several trees in the area. In a news release, the USACE says owners must get prior written authorization to remove dead or storm-damaged trees on public property. STONE COUNTY, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have temporarily closed the swimming area at the Cape Fair campground for high levels of E. Coli bacteria. "Around holiday weekends, we're required by the county or the state to do an E. Coli test," Public Affairs Specialist Jay Woods with the Corps of Engineers said.
