The beautiful girl Lucille joined the BRNGB family this weekend. She's 4 years old, 5 in November and is in the very early days of her foster. We are really looking forward to watching her grow. She has food sensitivities so has a very strict diet which her previous family worked hard to work out what she could and couldn't have. This will obviously continue as we don't want to cause her allergies to flare up. Although Lucille doesn't seem to have got the memo about this and is more than happy to eat everything possible! Previously she lived with cats an ..read more

Yesterday the wonderful Elsie was finally spayed; after months of getting some weight off her; months of her seasons messing about; she has finally been able to keep a vet appointment! She was due to be spayed on the 23rd April but was sent home with a perscription for Galastop as her mamorary glands were too large and full of fluid. We ask for perscriptions and buy the drugs on line where we can to make it a little bit cheaper (and of course, always from a reputable vet website). The Galastop cost £86.64. Then of course there's the actual spay which cost £387.66. So in total that ..read more

As you will recall, little Henry was left to his own devices in his home when his owner was taken very poorly. We're not 100% certain how long he was home alone for with someone popping into him, was more than days but we don't know about weeks; but it has had quite a profound effect on him. He is an amazing young boy. He's so loving, so eager to please, loves everyone and everything. BUT, his seperation anxiety is a mountain which we are all climbing with him. He has moved foster homes to be with some young playful dogs, which as you will see below he is enj ..read more

#CoffeeForBassets has been one of our biggest, non hound specific fundraisers over the last 6 years; May is always the month where we ask you to give up the price of your morning coffee, your lunch, your cheeky beer after work or even your Friday night takeaway and donate to the hounds instead. Here's the figures over the last 6 years:- 2018 our first ever year raised £2125.88; 2019 beat the first year at £2337.48; 2020, the year the world went crazy raised a fabulous £3455.40; 2021 followed closely at £3011.01; 2022 saw our lowest year, which was totally understandable consi ..read more

Newy joined the BRNGB family on the 1st May, she has a very sad back story. We don't know a lot about her as her surrendering family had only had her for about 6 months. Newy went to them after her previous owner passed away. We are 99.9% certain that she has been used at some point for breeding. Her "undercarriage" is very stretched, nearly to the point of dragging the floor. We know in the few months she was with the new family, she had a litter of pups; she reportedly arrived, unbeknown to them, pregnant. She had a litter of pups who all sa ..read more

We have been lucky enough to have four hounds from BRNGB….. Nelson aka Nelly adopted April 2015 and passed 2018. He taught us so much about dogs as he was fear reactive but had the biggest heart. We had him less than 3 years but wouldn't change that time for the world. We miss him talking to us! Tiberius aka Tibs adopted with Nelson in 2015 and still going at just over 10 years. He was an old man when we got him and is still one! Aurelia aka Miss Aura fostered in March 2018 and adopted just 10 days later…a true surrender if ever there was one. She was just so perfect (until s ..read more
