Good morning! I had gastric bypass on 4/12/21. My highest ever was 293. I had surgery at 262. My lowest at my year mark was 135. Found out I was pregnant extremely fast after hitting my lowest and cannot budge out of the 150-155 range and I’m getting discouraged. I'm eating between 66 to 120 g of Protein depending on the day. My fat intake I think is too high at around 70g, my net carbs range greatly between low 30’s to 100 g depending. My calories also vary between 800’s to 1200’s and I need to find the best range for losing weight while exercising now I started working out with the treadmill ..read more

Hello! I had VSG to bypass in Sept 2023. For me, it’s been a tougher learning curve figuring out what I’m tolerating and what will trigger upset. Sometimes it’s day to day. However, the last week or so, everything has been causing upset and the last few days I have become bloated and cramping every time I eat. My belly becomes distended and feels like I have gas trapped. After about half hour to 45 minutes or so, the pain eases and my belly starts to go down. Has anyone had similar experiences? TIA ..read more

I am currently almost 6 months post op for my original procedure and am writing this from my hospital bed. I am unable to tolerate oral intake of food or fluids of any kind and am being fed via a nasojejunal tube (NJT) and TPN via a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) My surgeon along with many others that have consulted on my case are at a complete loss for what is going on and why I can't tolerate anything. I'm reaching out to fellow people who have undergone bariatric surgery in the hopes of finding someone else with a similar experience to maybe get some opinions/answers. In orde ..read more

Hey Fam, I had my Gastric Bypass Jan 13, 2023. I'm now 16months post-op and down 127lbs. Life is GOOOOOOD! I'm now having LOTS of indigestion, gas, bloating etc. On a date with my wife We had wine with dinner. I had 5 bites of food. I watched her finish as usual. While sipping my wine i noticed that my pouch felt so good. Comforted even. The wine eased the bloat and pain and pressure. From that moment on I've used wine to ease my bloating and trapped gas. It even seems to make digestion in general easier. Am i imagining this or is there real benefits to wine after bypass surgies to aid us in d ..read more

So, I'm coming to the end of my soft foods period in a couple of days. I'm still nervous about eating raw vegetables and meat. So far I've been doing Protein yoghurts, fat free cottage cheese, a little Peanut Butter, hummus etc. In the absence of guidance, what should meals look like at this stage (5 weeks out)? And how many meals per day? I can't eat much so lately I've been stretching out my pot of cottage cheese over 2 hours to get it down but obviously don't want to continue with that habit ..read more

Sleeve to bypass question

When you convert from sleeve to bypass do they make your stomach smaller? Or do they just do the portion where they bypass part of the intestine while leaving the sleeved stomach? I was looking at SADI and my surgeon said he wouldn’t touch my stomach because of the high risk of leak with a resleeve but now I am not sure if I’m getting SADI or bypass and I’m curious about whether I will still be able to eat the same amount volume wise with the bypass too ..read more
