Recommendation - Revopoint Miraco or Einscan SE V2?

There's a good deal out there about higher end scanners and really budget scanners, but I've been struggling to find info on the slightly-higher end consumer-grade scanners. I'm curious if anyone has experience with both the Miraco and the Shining3D Einscan SE (especially the v2 version)? I'd be mainly using it for hobbyist purposes, to scan statuettes and small toy replacement parts between 10mm-500mm. I borrowed an SE v1 for this purpose many years ago, and found it to be reliable, but the results were only fine, plus it took quite a bit of setup for the larger pieces (I've also tried the S ..read more

Vehicle scanner recommendations ?

I'm bidding on a job to fab an electronics bay for an autonomous vehicle. This would hold the computers & networking gear that it uses. The trunk area is not a rectangular box or other easily measured cavity, but has features that curves around the wheel wells and other geometry. So it seems like a 3D-scan of the trunk area might be a good place to start vs. just breaking out a tape measure. I know there are quite a number of people here who do scanning for their car detailing/restoration/modding businesses here and I'm wondering what model you use for your work and how much it was. Scanning an animation and turn it into a "motion-captured mesh".

I saw this video on instagram: The Link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7h8Y67sYoa/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I've tried to recreate these kind of animation. I've create a human model and animated it with Armature. Now i want to turn it into a "3D scan model look alike" like in that video because of 2 reason: The animation with Armature is way to heavy and will be less flexible than when it is only a "motion-captured mesh" I want to use this "motion-captured mesh" in other software. So my question is how can i capture the model with th animation that i've made a ..read more

Is there any real 3d scan datasets for ai training yet?

Hey guys Im pretty new to the industry and just dabbling with an Einstar for now. Just wondering if any 3d scan datasets are being done at scale for ai training? , eg car models for a car design ai or people scans for character models generation ai or face recognition training and so on. I guess people would be easier as cars etc may have legal ramifications. If companies are doing it who are they lol. Im not sure about cleaning the scans up, I guess they all need to be done to be trained on for good outputs? submitted by /u/No_Kick7086 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

TL;DR - I'm looking for a 3D scanner, under 2000 USD if possible, for my custom 3D printing business. I mentioned to a friend at church that I've got a large 3D printer on order (RatRig V-Core 4 Hybrid, 500mm3, IDEX in near future), and he asked if I could print a replacement for the instrument section of his sports car's dash. He thinks members of his car club would be interested, and there are several in town; I smell a business opportunity! The printer will handle the volume and engineering filaments, so that's not an issue. But as with most things in automotive interiors, this is a curvy ..read more
