Mary is the ark of the New covenant

The ark of the old covenant contained manna, the high priest's rod and the tables of the law (Exodus 16:33-34, 25:16, Hebrews 9:4), Mary, for 9 months had inside her the new manna (John 6:48-51), the new high priest (Hebrews 4:14), and the fulfillment of the law (Matthew 5:17). In Luke 1:36 it also says the power of God overshadowed Mary like with the ark (Exodus 40:34). There are also many parallels between the story of David and the ark in 2 Samuel 6:1-15 and of Mary in Luke 1:39-56, David asks "how can the ark of the Lord come into my care?", and Elizabeth asks "why has this happened to me ..read more

The verse for women about have a quiet spirit, doesn't that also translate perfectly to have peaceful spirit? Just saying because we may be loosing a lot of modern woman on that wordage today...

I took a mostly passive survey and it seems clear to me, women do not want to be quiet lol not lol too though... That one word quiet should be more commonly communicated as women should have a peaceful spirit, they can relate with that and harmonize much easier to such a phase today it seems. Quiet used to be a common word, though most of us do not live in a quiet world anymore so we may have lost our grounding on the words true meaning. Quiet peaceful and still, can mean the same thing and we all should express and or emulate such a trait. Quiet can also mean voiceless, which is not contextu ..read more

What do we think about G3:16 and the two opposite paths depicted for women towards their husbands, between the two main versions of the book?

We all know J3:16. Though let's go back a bit to the first book... My life was turned upside down shorly after learning this about G3:16... I wasn't sure what G.. wanted from me, or what I was supposed to do with this if anything. Though upon offering mercy and forgiveness and bringing about peace to the 'were-illed' world. I'd like to point out once if the Lord will it to be, that the Holy versions say, paraphrased, she longs for her husband. The often catchy popular versions that don't hold Holy before Bible say she longs to rule over her husband? To me that sounds like 100% different direc ..read more

Teaching my students to study the Bible

I’m a youth pastor and am doing a series on how to study the Bible. This week I wanted to actually read a chapter or so and do a deep dive in it with them. Any recommendations on which book to start with, I wanted to do New Testament and probably not one of the gospels since the opening chapters are more setting the stage instead of getting right into. With that said I would probably only read the first chapter with them this week so the overall contents of the book doesn’t matter as much as just the first chapter. Thank you in advance and God Bless! submitted by /u/Brayquan4804 [visit reddi ..read more

Why did God create us

I'm entering a rough patch on my faith and a question popped into my head why did God create us knowing that millions of his creations would suffer for eternity in hell. My logic is when God created us and gave us free will he knew that giving us free will would of meant that we could turn away from him as an example adam and eve. Even in today's world there are so many examples of where people are born and how they are brought up that could keep them from finding God and just because your born somewhere and you don't follow God does that award you to burn in hell forever? If I was born in Ir ..read more

The Gospel According to Saint Luke Chapter Two Verse Twenty Nine to Verse Thirty Two. 26And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, 28Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, 29Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: 30For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, 31Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; 32A light to lighten ..read more

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 Jn. 5:11-12) Jesus fulfilled His purpose- to reveal the true character of God in flesh & blood and to become our source, our pathway, to eternal life. As a result, He obtained an imperishable crown of being our great high priest, God’s beloved son. Apart from the abundant life Jesus will offers you on Earth, there is also an imperishable crown that awaits you. This crown is not offer on Earth; it is hidden in ..read more

Who are the "children of Sheth" in Numbers 24:17?

"I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth." Does Sheth mean Adam and Eve's son Seth (he is referred to as Sheth in Chronicles) or is it someone/something else If it does mean Seth, is it referring to the literal destruction of humanity or is it symbolic? Or is the original context lost in the translation? submitted by /u/acidtripper666 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Ezekiel chapter 33

The other day I saw a posted sign reading “Ban screens. Read Ezekiel chapter 33.” I took this to mean that they want to do away with electronics (phones/tvs/computers) but after reading Ezekiel 33 I don’t see any connection there. Maybe I’m not understanding the sign itself or the chapter. Thoughts? submitted by /u/Adorable_Accident644 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
