Node won't connect to any neighbors

Forums:  General discussion I'm helping to set up a node on a roof tower here in West Seattle. The node can see lots of other nodes, but it won't seem to connect. We've dropped the LQM thresholds quite a lot, but even so I think we're above those thresholds. I'm not sure why none of these nodes are routeable. Does anyone have any thoughts? Attached is the mesh status page screenshot. And here's the sysinfo.json?link_info=1&lqm=1 for reference: { "meshrf": { "ssid": "AREDN-10-v3", "channel": "-2", "status": "on", "freq": "2397", "chanbw": "10", "antenna ..read more

Forums:  General discussion Hello All, I am with the Lake Monroe Amateur Radio Society in Seminole County, FL. We are looking to deploy AREDN at our Field Day site in 2024 in order to deploy a network to facilitate N3FJP's networked logging functionality across all of our stations. Our network will be completely air-gapped from the internet. I am looking to deploy a cost effective and relatively simple network with nodes that are located between 200-500 feet between each node spread out over a local park, and with as many as 7 nodes in the future. Based on the documentation I've read r ..read more

Forums:  General discussion I have 3.24.4.0 firmware in several nodes on my system. In a UBNT NanoStation, when LQM is turned off (in Advanced Configuration) there are no values in the SNR column in Mesh Status, the min SNR and Min Quality fields in Basic Setup do not appear, and the max distance field is grayed out. When I turn on LQM and Save Changes, I have to Reboot to get SNR values to populate. However when I reboot, the min SNR, min Quality, and max Distance numbers in Basic Setup are reset to some default value. This does not seem right. As a min, th ..read more

Forums:  General discussion From web browser or on node via "Firmware update" or "Package management". Seems there may be recent change to the downloads web server disabling auto-indexes.  I see there is a new firmware selector: https://downloads.arednmesh.org/afs/www/ .  That seems to produce downloadable files. Auto-indexes on the download server was handy.  That's too bad if it was decided to disable that. But as it stands, my nodes are unable to grab the list of updates via the built-in "Refresh" button. Also, the SSL cert is mismatch.  FWIW, I see nsloo ..read more

How to edit available URLs in Advertised Services

Forums:  General discussion Hello all, I have an IP camera that I can put on mesh with a live video stream, it works.  However, some people on our local OR mesh have their cameras setup to take a snapshot on a timer and serve it from a server on demand (loads way faster than streaming video).  The AREDN link goes to the web server, not to the camera. I'd like to be able to publish a url that has the complete information to ask the camera to take a jpg then send it to the requesting station.  I'd like to be able to edit the URL field in Advertised Services so it includes ..read more
