I had problems today with the EVIE charger at Westbury IGA in Tasmania too.
It said the payment was accepted, told me to connect vehicle, said vehicle was charging then a few minutes later said Charge Completed.
No actual charge went into the car. I tried it about 4 times, same result.
Gave up and went to Coles Chargefox charger ( same charger type) in Kings Meadows and it worked perfectly.
One charger at Westbury was not working at all, just a blank screen with moisture behind it.
Other charger would not charge our MG ZS 2021 model at all.

Yes there does seem to be plenty of uninformed folk when it comes to Electric vehicles.
Lots of crazy stories, maybe they are spread by petrol heads that love to make a lot of noise. I can bet that they have never driven an EV.
We love ours. So quiet, handles really well, and deals with our 10 klm mountain dirt road really nicely.
We also love driving past petrol stations and not bothering about the price of fuel.
So far our off grid solar is doing the job for us. We charge at home, only up to 15 amps but that does us as we don't have to go out every day.
I guess the folk spreading stories abo ..read more

Given the Tesla Froot/Frunk is quite large, bonnet up is more likely to be getting out the picnic.
Exactly the point, you won't find an engine fault under that bonnet.

I have heard of and actually seen a number of Teslsas over the years by the side of the road, in the countryside, with their bonnets up, next to a picnic table.
One of the problems of owning an EV is, that if you stop by the side of the road to have a pee, someone will probably take a photo of you and post it on social media.
Given the Tesla Froot/Frunk is quite large, bonnet up is more likely to be getting out the picnic. I frequently store food in there. I also have my compressor and four times have stopped (with the bonnet up) by the side of the road to pump up a leaky tyre after getting ..read more

MG4 gives first warning at 20% SOC.
You can slow charge them using V2L from another EV. Charge rate of 11-15 km/h from another MG.

what is the emergency charger that Bjorn Nyland carries.
It is a LFP bank with a second auxiliary bank which plugs in (DC connection).
Integrated inverter.
From memory it delivers a couple of kW so a bit slow to get back onto the road but better than being towed or stuck somewhere unpleasant. It is AC.
I want to make something like that that fits inside a gerrycan (perhaps hinged for servicing) and the outlet is obviously the spout. When someone asks me what do I do if I have a flat battery, I can say I use my gerrycan. Don't you carry one ?

Hi all,
Recently I saw an article in drive about a couple of young guys who have setup a business in Victoria that does Mobile EV Charging. Apparently they offer a 24/7 emergency mobile charging service, as well as scheduled charging. I had a look at their website at mobileevcharging.com.au
Pretty interesting, their charger is a 60KW DC. What do you guys think? I am planning on subscribing when my new BYD arrives in June, its only like $5 a week or something which includes two emergency charges per year at no additional cost.
cheers
