There's a new found optimism amongst Hibs fans ahead of the last match of the season. As far as support is concerned, it should be like a home game for Hibs, who must have a good chance of getting another win under their belt. All in all, most Hibees will be glad to see the end of this season, only notable because the number of late goals lost. Another welcome points haul will be a decent bonus to claim and perhaps be another feather in SDG's cap ..read more

A very brief posting on here as SDG tries to keep up his 40% win record as interim manager, with a definite possibility of improving it. To do so, he'll have to give the team a good kick up the backside and instil some of his passion and commitment into them. He knows the problems, the players know the problems and so do we. Good luck to him in his endeavours ..read more

Busy afternoon at easter road. Monty emptied. SDG takes over as interim manager for the 4th time..... Malky Mackay then appointed as the clubs sporting director. Then CEO apparently departs (with some rather... ahem... interesting rumours about his private life) My guess from that is if we keep the same structure our next coach will be someone connected to bournemouth working under MM and won't particularly be a name. Maybe i'm wrong though ..read more

Just re-read the last few match threads to get the gist of this match thread, especially..... "Last week against St Johnstone Ross County we also lost a late goal after dominating the game, so it's clear where our problems lie. We are easily good enough to get the win, but it is Hibs we're talking about, so you just never know. The likes of Simon Murray Biojan Miovski and Junior Hoilett will try to run our defence off their feet and Ross Laidlaw Kelle Roos at the other end will play an important part too." Maybe a visit to church for a prayer or two wouldn't go amiss ..read more

Hibs face another long trip north to face a Ross County side still desperate for points to lift themselves out of the Play-off spot. The last time Hibs travelled that far north, they dominated the game and were looking good for long spells, but still managed to lose a goal deep into added time to finish 2-2. Last week against St Johnstone we also lost a late goal after dominating the game, so it's clear where our problems lie. I suppose I'd better put up a post about tomorrow's game, but everybody knows the script, plot, maybe even the score. Will it really matter in the long term as long as we get enough points to be 10th or better? Of course it does, but do the players feel the same, or the manager? It's only words, but here's Monty's take on things. “It was a difficult few days after the Motherwell game and reflecting on the disappointment of missing out on the top six. When we spoke about that, it was looking across the season and in many games we were in winning positions but lost 12 points from winning positi ..read more

Onward, onward rode the five hundred, into the valley of death they thundered (apologies to Manfred Mann) Our final five fixtures are as follows: 5 - Saturday 27 April, 2024 – St Johnstone (A) – 3pm kick-off 4 - Saturday 4 May, 2024 – Ross County (A) – 3pm kick-off 3 - Sunday 12 May, 2024 – Aberdeen (H) – 3pm kick-off 2 - Wednesday 15 May, 2024 – Motherwell (H) – 7.45pm kick-off 1 - Sunday 19 May, 2024 – Livingston (A) – 3pm kick-off Not quite 500 miles to travel in the next month, but it will be the valley of death if we don't get a grip and show how good we can be. Each of these teams ..read more

There's not much to say about this game as Hibs have to win it to stand a chance of a Top6 place, depending on Dundee's last 2 games. To be honest, I'd rather we didn't finish in the top half, as we'll get thumped at least thrice, maybe even 5 times. It looks as though Hibs need to score 3 or 4 goals in every game to compensate for our defensive mistakes. But are our forwards really that interested in doing that ..read more

After the International break, Hibs find themselves back in League action with the daunting task of a trip to Ibrox. I can only see this going one way and I feel most Hibs fans would snatch your hand off if a point was offered. In all games I have seen , highlights admittedly, Hibs continue to give away soft and silly goals. One place you cannot afford to be so lax is Ibrox. It may be a case of trying to protect their goal difference as that might prove crucial later on. Will be on my way back from Banbury so will try to keep updated with all the action from Glasgow ..read more
