We have a guest writer today! I reached out to someone who would like to remain anonymous for the time being about their trip to Asia in September - November last year, and here’s what they had to say!    Japan and South Korea are both beautiful countries to visit no matter the time of year. But, in the fall you will get to experience the leaves changing colors while doing some outdoor exploration or enjoy massive Halloween festivities before heading to a fall food festival. Thanks to the seasonal drop in temperature, visiting either Japan or South Korea—or both in my case aha!—is a ..read more

Welcome back to Sol & Seaa Travel & Lifestyle Blog! It’s me, your friendly neighborhood guest writer, Amelia, and today we’re going to talk about my trip to Italy and why, after spending a year abroad, it’s my favorite place!    Italy is the fifth most visited country in the world, so chances are it is on your bucket list of must-go places. Annually, more than 60 million people will visit the country, which is impressive when you consider the official population is 62 million. This boot shaped country in Europe has historical ties dating back millennia, to the time of the Gre ..read more

Pretty sure little me never thought she’d have one of these, pretty sure teenager me thought the same, and if you’d have told me 2 years ago I was going to let myself open up to other people you definitely never would’ve heard from me again. This whole process has taught me a lot of invaluable things about myself, and paired with the work I’ve spent the last 3 years of my life doing, it showed me what I want in life isn’t routed in success the way I thought it was, it’s rooted in love. Let’s talk about it.    It’s June 2021, I’ve spent the entire spring laying outside and getting to ..read more

We’re back with another guest travel writer! This time we’re talking Summer Vacay spots and you already KNOW Bali is on my list!    Going away in the summertime is something that a lot of people look forward to every year in order to turn their brains off and just relax away from work or school. Some people take the opportunity to browse top museums and find out the history of new places. Other people want to sit on a beach and not be disturbed for a week. And some plan on sleeping all day so they can party in a new city at night. Whatever your preferred way to enjoy vacation is, it ..read more

27 Things I Learned While 27

Every December 31st I sit down and read over all of my journal entries from the year. Sometimes I’ll laugh at the moments I thought were life-changing and realize just how mundane they really were, and other times I’ll cry at how profound and honest I was with myself. This year is a little different. While I set out to make massive growth in my health and wellbeing, I had no idea what that was going to look like and how overwhelming it would all be by the end of the year. I grew tired of the constant daily decisions I had to make, not because the decisions were tiresome, but it was the act of ..read more

My Word of the Year - Fearless
Sol & Seaa Blog

Since 2019 I’ve chosen a word of the year to guide the theme of my life that year and as a gentle reminder as life gets chaotic to refocus on my goals whenever necessary. Last year my word of the year was Abundance and this year my word is Fearless. Let’s talk about it.    Last year my fear kept me stuck firmly in place as I navigated through the most healing year of my life yet. As big T after little t trauma came up, my fear kept me grounded and enveloped in a sense of safety while everything else was triggered and scratched to the surface. Fear, in 2021, worked in my favor. It sto ..read more

The Pursuit of Authenticity

Forgive me for skipping a few weeks. I had a pivotal moment at the start of this round of NYL, and I realized my purpose has shifted. Today I want to share with you all what’s been on my mind. I’m so happy you’re here - let’s get started.    Do any of you have a fear of being seen? I most certainly do - although Haley says it’s actually the fear of success disguised as the fear of being seen. Whatever, Potato Potato. I ask because wrapped up in this fear of being seen/success is your authentic self screaming to shine. For so long I sheltered the parts of me that made me feel vulnerab ..read more

Happy New Year!

Wow. Another year gone. I told my therapist at the start of December that I didn’t feel like I’d accomplished anything in 2021, or at least not nearly as much as I accomplished in 2020, but after sitting down and journaling I realize I have, and today I’m going to speak from the heart about the last 3 years. Full disclosure I’m writing this on New Years’ Eve Eve. Content Warning: Mental Health, Suicide, Depression.    Every year on New Year’s Eve (since I don’t go out and celebrate) since 2018 I have started a tradition where I sit down with my journals from the years past and re-rea ..read more

5 Beautiful Destinations for Your Spring Get-A-Way

Spring is a great time of year to travel since it is rarely the busy time of year for many destinations. It is also when most of the world is coming back alive after varying levels of winter seasons. Many cities around the world will host flower and music festivals to start getting people back outside again after the cold winter months. Traveling in the spring also means that you won't have a ton of crowds, outside of the typical spring break weeks, as many are still in school terms. It’s also the best time of year to dress cute and be comfortable (temperature-wise) walking around a bit more t ..read more
