Composite Panels

Does anyone here have any experience with composite panels? Or know anyone who does? I have been trying to gather some information and find someone to chat with in detail but haven't found anyone thus far - it seems to be a weird area where the few experts I have been able to get in touch with either dont have time or just dont want to have a long conversation about them. I am also trying to find if there is a source to acquire them - total composites no longer sells to the general... Composite Panels ..read more

Gen 3 Starlink StarMount Alucab Locations

Has anyone mounted a Gen 3 Starmount / Starlink on top of the Alucab? I'm concerned that the tilt (especially near trees) when the tent is up will result in more obscurations and poor signal. I feel like the starlink will get most used when we're at camp with the top up. Another option is on load bars in front of the Alucab. I might be able to fit a couple storage boxes there too if I went that direction. Last, and least pleasing, is hood mounting. Arrrr. Interested to hear what others... Check out the Lone Peak Overland Camper! It's well engineered and has a ton of accessories available with tons more on the way. They're literally the best value of any RTT/canopy combo on the market, coming in at nearly half the closest competitor. I got mine installed today. What do you guys think?! P.S. full disclosure, I am an ambassador for this company so use code 4WDEGENS if you'd like some $ off your order! https://www.lonepeakoverland.com/4wdegens... Sunrider and RTT?

Searched here and elsewhere and can't seem to find anything that lines up. Very close to snagging a 2023 Mojave semi-locally and planning the build for a solo cross country trip next year. Truck has a hard top and I'm seriously considering a RTT down the road on a metal bed canopy. Likely a SmartCap but GFC, Dirtbox, and AluCab are also in the running. RTT may be a ways out but I'm leaning more towards a wedge-type. Has anyone had any issues with the Bestop Sunrider opening and making... Sunrider and RTT ..read more

There are many options available for folding desk or table for driver side (attached to steering wheel) or back of the seats, I am looking for something similar that is functional for front passenger side if anyone has bought or build it as DIY project? Appreciate some inputs or links and design ideas ..read more

We recently got back from our month long trip from NC to Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. Overall the weather was not as nice as we had hoped but we were prepared. However, not everyone we met along the way was and here is our story.. We were a little ahead of our rough itinerary due to being snowed out in Bryce Canyon and found ourselves in northern Arizona. My wife, knowing that I’ve always wanted to camp on the northern rim of the Grand Canyon said why don’t we try and make it out... A Tale of Three Trucks ..read more

I am sure everyone is aware of these two products. https://www.na.rsismartcap.com/components/camp-kitchen https://www.alu-cab.com/product/side-slide-prep-table/ I am looking to build, or have built, a custom option. The table top part I can do myself, what really am after is the frame or hinges of a system. I am looking to be able to have a table top (with other things) folded up and out of the way against the canopy door. When opening the canopy door I would like... Anyone running a hitch mount hammock setup for solo overlanding?

I got a full size CVT Shasta with extended fly and an annex room. Its great for when i have family members or friends out and we are just camping and hiking. But for my solo or group run to actually offroad. I don't like the weight and how high up it sits on my Mojave. I'm fairly rugged (young AF), and i prefer to hammock camp anyway as RTT mattress just suck for my bony ass. The issue being there isn't always a tree and I'd like a quicker tarp setup. My main push for this is weight saving... Anyone running a hitch mount hammock setup for solo overlanding ..read more

I have made the decision. It is happening. Thanks to @WILDHOBO for the encouragement to go wild and crazy. Also thanks to inspiration from @Mules who has a great thread of good info (page-39) and @Dan Grec. I love my tent, aside form the mold situation. I also really like my canopy, despite the company no longer existing and the... RTT and canopy turned camper ..read more
