Disney (WDW & Disneyland) | Tiana's Bayou Adventure | Splash Mountain retheme | 2024

In a very interesting turn of events, Disney has announced that it will be retheming the two American Splash Mountain rides to The Princess & The Frog: https://www.facebook.com/190814374277866/posts/4709641955728396 I wonder how much of this was to do with Splash Mountain’s links to Song of the South, and the recent petition to retheme it that occurred due to this? Funnily enough, The Princess & The Frog was even a suggested theme by the petition creator! An anticipated timeline hasn’t currently been... Read more ..read more

Turning Japanese - A Japanese Adventure 2024 - Park 3: Disneysea

Konnichiwa So this April I managed to achieve a lifelong dream and I visited Japan. Whilst I went to 5 parks (plus Tokyo Dome for the +1) I'm going to say something that is possibly sacrilegious on a coaster site: Japan is amazing and the theme parks are not even close to the highlights. Honestly, the parks are great, and I managed 2 new Top 5 Coasters (I mean we all know which they're going to be - but I'll keep the suspense for now). Honestly Japan is the most amazing place on Earth. The... Read more ..read more

Ah, China. The bane of my life, but I can't get enough. It's been two-and-a-half long months since I could visit and they've built and closed a hundred more things I want to try in that time. The plan was to go to Europe around this time, but as no one can open anything in a timely fashion, might as well have another crack. Nothing exciting in terms of travel. Landed in Shanghai. Picked up a SIM card. Phoned Suzhou Amusement Land. Is Beyond the Cloud running? Yes. Unintelligible noises... Read more ..read more

First park: Lagoon Fun park, running the coasters as it should be with all available trains on the track. Best ops IMO in the USA second only to Disney. Sadly some flats were down or in pieces: Enterprise, Top Scan, Waveswinger, the Top Spin thingy. Saying because of "late parts". Wonder if Trump wins and goes head to head with EU they have tons of German and EU rides (; Primordial was more down than running. Rode it once. Didnt they ask Canada's Wonderland on how reliable this kind of... Read more ..read more

Good afternoon. I think this project was announced 3 or 4 years ago, but in recent months it's begun to get going. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1732955696949517 They have recently been doing vlogs, one of them shows the rides in storage: This was the Ferris wheel from Brighton This the the Mack E-Motion coaster that used to be in the Amsterdam Dungeons (Reaper, Drop Ride to Doom) Some flat rides... This week, construction broke ground on a second Majaland indoor park in Poland, this one located close to Warsaw. The project will be in close proximity to a major shopping mall and the full investment is said to be thirty million euros, with a targeted opening in the spring of 2022. No word on how it'll differ from the Kownaty location as of yet, but Plopsa director Steve Van den Kerkhof mentions how the company has "learned a lot" during the construction of Kownaty, and that Poland is a... Carnival Cruise Line recently announced the addition of 2 new Excellence-Class Cruise Ships, set for delivery in 2027 and 2028! Following on from the 3 already built ships: Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee, the Carnival fleet is set to add 2 new sisters, yet unnamed to its fleet! (Why) Are big coasters becoming more rare recently?

Scrolling through the Roller Coasters Constructions forum, I noticed a bit of a puzzling trend: Where did all the big 'uns go? There was a time, possibly just in my rosy-tinted nostalgia for the old days, where parks competed to build big and impressive coasters. Towering rides, with heights upwards of 50 meters (two and a half chains) and a kilometer or so (five furlongs) of track, daunting drops, multiple airtime hills, and possibly multiple inversions as well. Granted, there weren't... Read more ..read more
