Good Evening Everyone, I'm getting ready to purchase the "lot" to groom my own two schnauzers. In my search for the correct tools, I came upon this "Mars Coat King Stripper" where the lady used it to "strip" the coat on her schnauzers. I've seen some pictures of other kinds of dogs that had this "stripper" used on them and their coats looks great (most long haired). I am curious if anyone with schnauzers on the forum has used this tool and if so, what size and when is it used (what... Mars Coat King Stripper and Schnauzers ..read more

Question about a shaved Alaskan Malamute

I am the owner of a five year old Alaskan Malamute, that we adopted from my sister in law a couple of years ago. Wolfie had terribly matted fur at the beginning of this year (due to some terrible rain that he refuses to not stand in and dirt holes that he insists on digging and sleeping in) that we desperately tried to avoid, but it got so bad that I called a groomer to come and have a look. Originally he thought he would be able to brush it out, but after giving it a go he then said that... Question about a shaved Alaskan Malamute ..read more

Matting or Bad Brush/Technique?

I'm unsure if my Australian Shepherd is matted or just has dense fur that the brush cannot properly get down into. I don't see anything superficial (matting,) and I also don't see anything when I part his fur and near his skin. For reference, it feels dense near his rear (Australian Shepherd butt fluff.) Is this normal ..read more

I took my 7 month old golden doodle for his vaccine and wellness check. After that, we went to his groomer for sanitary grooming only. He was fine and was his usual happy puppy. After 10 minutes I received a phone call from the wife of the groomer and told me that my puppy was agitated and but her husband. My baby poop and was not moving at all in one spot. When I got there, he was yelping like in pain, drooling and shivering. I tried to pacify him and started to move to the corner while... Between hiking trails, playing fetch, and wrestling with each other, my two dogs are often a muddy, tangled mess! I'm hoping to find a dog spa that offers de-shedding treatments as well as relaxing baths and brushes. My girls love getting pampered! Any recommendations for a salon that will leave them clean, tangle-free, and looking beautiful ..read more

Semi-urgent question regarding my dog's shaved tail

Long story short, my mother decided to shave my puppy's tail just for the fun of cause she thinks it's 'stylsh.' He hasn't been the same since. He's a 3 year old pomeranian/chihuahua mix. Ever since she shaved his tail, he can't walk straight. If he walks, he'll take 3 steps and spin around to nibble on his tail. He's pretty much immobile at this point and I feel very bad for him. I've asked other people and they have said that maybe it just makes him itch, he notices air hitting his tail... Semi-urgent question regarding my dog's shaved tail ..read more
