"Kyber (Quantum-Resistant Mechanism) in Chrome 124 Leads to Web Connection Problems" by Luke Jones "Impact on Connectivity and Responses The introduction of the Kyber768 quantum-resistant key agreement algorithm, intended for TLS 1.3 and QUIC connections, has inadvertently caused connectivity issues. Recently read about this one, it appears to be one of the more interesting forks of Mozilla Firefox. More knobs in settings, sidebar, keyboard shortcuts; among other things, there's a knob for tab bar below toolbars, some update settings controllable through GUI like in old Firefox versions (there's no "Never check for updates", but the option to choose to install them is there), JPEG-XL support enabled by default, knob for turning on userChromeJS script support... There's also Web Apps feature, I guess equivalent to Chromium's "install website as app". Available x86 and x64 builds for Windows ..read more

Unfold pinned folders?

Hey, One thing I really, really want to be able to do is unfold folders you've pinned to display contents, exactly like it does when you press "All Programs" Like here, press the Windows Accessories, you'll get the content; However, if you pin a folder to the start menu, it'll just open it in a new explorer window. Is it possible for folders to have that functionality when pinned to the front? or create something that has that functionality? Thanks ..read more

Hi there, I'm installing win2k server in a VMware machine. It booted okay, but when I tried to install VMware Tools, it says Update Rollup 1 is required. The installation is in Chinese, but when I searched M$ official website -- https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=891861, the only available download is English. Where can I get other languages of this rollup (or other workaround like a bunch of standalone patches)? A quick Googling returned nothing. Thanks ..read more

Hello everyone, I managed to create a screen capture tool for Windows NT4 and 5.x in the community. It has similar functionality to the one found in Windows 7: Features: Full Screen Capture: The application currently supports capturing the entire screen, allowing users to take comprehensive screenshots of all visible content on their display. Capture Region Selection: Users can select a specific region of the screen to capture, providing flexibility to focus on and share only the desired part of the screen. Future Support Planning: Add Single Window Capture Mode: Implement a feature that allow ..read more

StartAllBack: Is it possible reorder/unstick icons of the same program on the taskbar?

StartAllBack is a wonderful program, worth paying for on every PC I've put it on. There's one other feature I'd love to see - the ability to reorder/unstick icons of the same program on the taskbar. Here's what I mean: I often like to setup my programs on the taskbar in a specific order such as: Outlook --- Chrome --- Pycharm (repo 1) --- Chrome --- PuTTY (server 1) --- Pycharm (repo 2) --- Chrome --- Putty (server 2) In Windows 11, however, programs of the same kind must be grouped together Outlook --- Pycharm (repo 1) --- Pycharm (repo 2) --- PuTTY (server 1) --- Putty (server 2) --- Chrome ..read more
