Does anyone have a quiche recipe to make in a half pan? I'm catering a breakfast for my husband's co-workers (about 60 people). Usually, I've included scrambled eggs as one of the items, but I previously made 2 (normal-sized) quiches, and they really enjoyed them so I'd like to skip the scrambled eggs and make a couple different quiche. I just have no clue how to upscale a recipe enough for a half pan. I made one yesterday for my husband and I in a 1/3 pan but I thought it should have... Quiche for a buffet ..read more

Gingerbread Jam (An accidental recipe) Here’s the story: My wife returned from shopping laden with five pounds(!) of white seedless grapes. She had wanted only two but had been bamboozled by a fast-talking, fast-moving sidewalk vendor and, as the British say, “there you are.” In salads and out of hand we polished off a pound of them, leaving a daunting four pounds to be dealt with. Wife, disgusted at her uncharacteristic weakness, was for 86-ing the lot. I proposed making jelly instead—and... Gingerbread Jam ..read more

Oxtail Stew

So, I've tried a version of Oxtail Stew, first served over polenta and a second time over papardelle noodles. While the meat came out tender, and the texture of the gravy was good, both times, it seems the flavor was a bit 'flat'. I've had others suggest it's the particular red wine used or that I should include Worcestershire Sauce in the stew. As I'd rather try something not 'in a bottle' for an extra zing of flavor, any thoughts ..read more

Hello there, My name is Evelien and I’m collecting family recipes and the stories that go along with them. Every kind of recipe is welcome, from any country it’s coming from. Eventually I’d love to celebrate this collection by turning it into a wholesome cookbook. In this cookbook every family member that created the recipe will be mentioned. So aside from the recipe I’d love to know the name of the family member who created it, the land ( and city/ region) of origin and of the story or... Collecting family recipes ..read more
