What did you shoot? What did you shoot at? What distance?
For me today: Kimber Warrior SOC. 15.5 yards. 1/2 size IPSC steel target. Mostly double taps.

Just a simple question that's been bothering me.
How does recoil spring weight affect recoil?
I have a Ruger SR1911. It came with a 21# recoil spring. I believe the original 1911s were about 18#. The 21# made it hard to rack the slide, so I replaced it, but with a 16#.
Does a lighter recoil spring reduce felt recoil or is it the opposite?

I’ve recently witnessed an internet meltdown by a guy who paid $14000 for a Yost build. When fired, the firing pin stop falls out, effectively making the pistol a $750 Colt ($50 in Philly) with grips autographed on the inside by Ted Yost.
Unreal. $14000 it better be belt fed or need a trailer hitch to move it.

Handled one of these in a LGS. Some nice work by EB turning a lousy 2011 into something pretty nice.

I recently stumbled across the website of Bunker Arms (www.bunkerarms.com), a small custom shop that makes some really nice looking 1911s. They have a very sleek, minimalist style.
Now I wonder: Do they shoot as good as they look? The prices are $9000+, so I'm not about to order one just out of curiosity ..read more

For a decent under $1,000 1911 . the SA Garrison has checked most of my boxes - The Bul Armory as well (although I don't like the Bul 1911 looks as much as I do the SA Garrison).
Recently I saw the MAC 1911 JSOC 1911 .45 ACP and for the $750 street price I'm saying : Wow ! ... Does anybody have the new MAC JSOC 1911 - if so what are your thoughts on what appears to be a very nice 1911 and a great deal for the price (under $1,000) . MAC...

So I posted earlier about problems with a barrel having chattering for being poorly machined. So SDS sent me an RMA so good. Before I mailed it out I got my Holosun 507K for it today. So I put it on my slide. It was a tight fit but it went on. Then when I took the cover off the gun for the red dot I tried putting the screws in. And yes I have the right size screws.
So the screw would only go in a few turns. I looked and the threaded hole for the screw on the right side was cut just enough...
