Desperately needing advice here! Has anyone got a good way of removing Vizsla fur from clothes? Our 8 month old boy has shed so much as the weather has gotten warmed and I can’t get it out of our clothes - they’re literally coming out of the washing machine covered in fur! I’m going to deep clean the washing machine to see if that helps but does anyone have any advice ..read more

Cyst?

My girl has been on quite a few off lead adventures on rocky terrain and river banks this past week. I noticed her excessively licking her back paw. It looks a blood-filled cyst looking injury in between her toe pads. Does anyone know what this is? Does it look infected? I’ve cleaned it and have sent the picture to my vet for feedback but would appreciate any insight if someone else has seen this before. Thanks ..read more

Hi everyone, really needing some advise as it is a Saturday here and haven’t got an appointment at the vets until Monday. My 3 1/2 year old male vizsla has has some nasty looking spots on his skin which we treated as folliculitis and he was on antibiotics for around two weeks. Since then we have noticed more open red spots that don’t seem to be scabbing over particularly on his neck in one area, today he has a very saggy lump on his skin on his neck which really doesn’t look good. As first... Saggy lumps on neck ..read more

Hey everyone I have a 16 month old V that as of late is having some eating issues. We start off with kibble and then started giving wet food and also started to give him home-cooked meals . Not too long ago he had some G.I. problems and have gotten that solved. But as of lately he’s becoming a very picky eater. The vet recommended going to straight dry kibble and premade wet food from the store. But he is being very picky. He is currently on red for dry food and wet food. We need all the... Early cancer detection with blood test

This test seems to have been around for a while but only recently caught my attention. I will ask my vet about it next time we have a visit but i wanted to check whether any of the forum members have heard about or even used it. I am not a big fan of invasive screening methods whenever avoidable (for humans and animals) so high hopes here towards this method, especially since we do blood work as part of our regular check ups anyways. Nu.Q Vet Nu.Q Vet provides cancer screening tests for vets and owners to allow early diagnosis and detection of cancer in pets, allowing for better treatment a ..read more

Persistent cough and chuffing

For 2 years, my 13-year-old female has been coughing up phlegm. Sometimes it's a cough, the most times it's chuffing to get the phlegm out. It's gotten so bad that it is persistent throughout the day, and especially at night. The poor girl has trouble sleeping because the phlegm keeps coming up and she has to try to get it out. It gets so bad that it seems like she's going to choke because she can't get enough air behind it to push it out. She'll finally get a ball of it into her mouth and...
