Was down in Baja over the weekend and saw this 1st gen for sale for $2,500. Owner is American and used it for local fishing and grocery runs. Not sure what year, but it runs, has a 22RE motor, automatic, 153k mi, and 4wd. The paint is in decent condition but there’s a decent amount of rust on the frame. Typically this much rust would be a deal breaker, but for $2,500?!? Is it worth it? I don’t know much about 1st gens, would love to make this a project car. Any thoughts?...

Hey everyone. I am going to do the timing chain on my 1995 Tacoma with the 3rz and I’ve got a few questions for more knowledge people. I was wondering what gaskets I need to do the job. I know I need a valve cover gasket, timing cover gasket and a tube of fipg. Has anyone done this job without pulling the head? Would you recommend or is it worth pulling? I was looking at the timing chain kits from lc engineering has anyone tried them before? Definitely the biggest job I’ve took on so any...

There is a 2015 4runner limited (4wd) with 217k miles... we negotiated down to $17,500... clear carfax and no accidents. Heated and cooled seats, all the bells and whistles...
Test drove it twice, checked under the hood, checked under everything with a flashlight... checked fluids, no leaks, all services at a local toyota dealer.
Planning to meet them tomorrow morning to purchase. Thoughts on what I might need to be concerned about ..read more

I own a Tacoma that I use most for offraoding but I bought an Outback Wilderness edition in 22 and really like it on the road, snow and some dirt roads. I put 60k mi on it and had no issues. I recently totaled it so now I am considering getting a new one or maybe a 4Runner. The Outback did a great job in the crash. I walked away with bruises and whiplash. Someone pulled out right in front of me with no time to stop. I was going 55 mph. So I am pleased to not be more injured or dead.
I know...

Hey all. I’ve gotten myself into a bit of a predicament this weekend and I need some advice. I own a 1995 Tacoma with the 2.7 3rz. I was replacing front main seal and as I was re installing the crank pulley and harmonic balancer I didn’t have the gerotor aligned correctly and I jammed the pulley into the key in the crank and it got forced down and chipped the sprocket for the timing chain. Is this ok to run or is it a big no (I really dont want it to grenade and dick my timing). If it’s not...

I was initially looking at Bilstein 4600 or 5100s for my 08 4Runner with 317k miles. However, I just came across a used complete set off a 22 4Runner. The set includes complete strut assemblies, upper control arms, rear springs and shocks. I believe all will fit with the exception of the rears. From my understanding the 5th gen rear shocks use larger bolts and will not fit the 4th gen. If so, I assume all other parts would work except the rear shocks. I assume having new springs and...
