The number of people accessing emergency accommodation has surpassed 14,000. The latest data published by the Department of Housing shows that in April there were 9,803 adults and 4,206 children in emergency accommodation. 14,009 people were recorded as being homeless in April, a rise of 143 from the figure of 13,866 in March. Frontline gardaí in Dublin have begun wearing body cameras with around 350 gardai from three garda stations using the technology on a pilot basis ahead of a planned roll-out across the country next year.
