(FREDERICK, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred this afternoon in Frederick County.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to the intersection of US Route 15 and Catoctin Furnace Road for a report of a crash between a vehicle and a bicyclist. (PRINCESS ANNE, MD) – Maryland State Police investigators are continuing an investigation into the death of a state prison inmate in Somerset County.
The inmate is identified as Eugene Stanford, 49. Stanford was declared deceased by emergency medical service personnel. He was a state prison inmate serving time at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Princess Anne.
A suspect, also an inmate, has been identified. He has not been charged at this time and is not being identified until charges are placed.

(FINKSBURG, MD) — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 41-year-old Carroll County man last night.
The deceased is identified as Geoffrey Brittingham, 41, of Hampstead. EMS personnel from Carroll County pronounced him deceased on the scene. He was the driver of a 2022 Ford Explorer involved in the crash.
Brittingham’s 7-year-old son was a passenger in the rear of the Explorer. He was transported by ground to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment.

(SALISBURY, MD) — Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a Wicomico County woman who was found deceased on May 26, 2024 by officers from the Salisbury City Police Department.
The victim is identified as Patoria Giddens, 33, of Salisbury. Giddens was found in a vacant apartment near her residence in the 1000-block of Adams Avenue. She was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS personnel. Giddens was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The results indicate her manner of death as homicide.

(SALISBURY, MD) – Following a grand jury indictment, a Somerset County man has been charged with murder following a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a utility worker earlier this year in Wicomico County.

(North East, MD) – Maryland State Police are actively investigating a double fatal crash that occurred last night in Cecil County.
The deceased is identified as Virginia Thomas, 61, of North East, Maryland. Thomas was the passenger in a Toyota Camry. She was transported from the scene by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where she was later pronounced deceased.
