Unfortunately, this one is going to the proverbial Pool Room. (I don’t have a big enough magic wand to restore it to road -going condition.) But it’s still rather beautiful so I will share some pics. Picked it up at the local Tip Shop the other day. Luigi Daccordi was renowned for the quality of his paintwork and graphics. A considerable number of his frames came to Australia in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. I believe that his frames also sold well in other places, like USA and South Africa. While the Forks and main tubes (Columbus SLX) are in reasonably good condition, the seat sta ..read more

Yeah çonfident they did seat, no obvious gap or irregularity between tyre/rim edge and working fine. Just prefer the pop as they snap into place. Statistics: Posted by warthog1 — Sun Jun 02, 2024 10:28 am ..read more

My Schwalbe pro ones have seated without a pop too. I prefer the pop. It is a very reassuring noise to let you know they have seated. Statistics: Posted by warthog1 — Sun Jun 02, 2024 9:23 am ..read more

Noice! My son had a byk which I similarly tarted up for minimal cost & resold at the same price. In his case he wanted a red chain, which was readily available for single speed. I suspect the front brake is low effect deliberately - overdoing the front brake has more consequences than the rear. At the speed you kid is riding, all should be fine I imagine in a few years time after it's been through all the kids, I will be able to sell it and break even. I think the brakes were selected to be cheap, there are 14in bikes on the market with disc front brakes. Statistics: Posted by blizzar ..read more

The Goodyear tyres are known to be pretty easy to get on and also seat easily. So surprised you broke two tyre levers but not surprised it seated without a pop. Statistics: Posted by blizzard — Sun Jun 02, 2024 6:52 am ..read more

Don't know what happened, but some sort of small off-roader ended up on its side at Eastern Creek on the M7 motorway almost opposite the M7 offices. The catch was, it appeared to be on the wrong side of the road, on the south bound lanes, facing the wrong way! No idea how that happened but it must have been a big incident. Hardly anyone else was out riding. I'll have to spend a lot of time cleaning up my bike though. Give UNPASS the sponsor a try. I got a roll of their cleaner. Probably overkill for mud you can hose off but does a good job wiping off chain gunge from the pushy and disk brake gunge on the motorcycle. I have enough cleaning things here. Had an incident today - riding down a straight road in broad daylight and a driver pulled out from a side street. Slowed down and avoided her to hear a honk and brakes locking up from behind me. Turned out as well as failing to give way to the cyclist, she'd simultaneously failed to give way to a car going the other direction. A while back a guy I knew from work was riding up Epping Road separated bike lane. There is a place where the bike lane (and footpath) cross the exit of a service station. All sensible riders know to be on the lookout there! Sure enough there was a car zoomed out of t ..read more
