Coming from a pool background, where everyone is playing in a "Race to" mode, I'm quite fascinated by the fact that Snooker still uses this "Best of" approach, rather popular in the American playoff formats (NHL, NBA, etc.)
Is there a particular reason why Snooker matches are then played in "Best of" formats rather than "Race to" formats? Wouldn't it be easier for the audience to know, how many games one has to win in order to win the match rather than calculating that from the best of?

Good day all,
I am currently trying to get an idea of who lives in Colorado that know how to play or would be interested in playing snooker in the Denver metro area? This is a feeler to try and gauge the interest in the area to determine if a table or two would become available for use, would there be sufficient interest to hold local, regional and national tournaments, mostly invitationals in nature. Best Place to sell very early 1900 Brunswick Snooker Table
Very early 1900 Brunswick snooker table, also comes with a set of billiard rails.
This was bought by my brother in law, in the late 50's or early 60's, out of a pool hall in San Bernardino I believe.
It may need refinishing, as I haven't seen it in about four years. Simonis needs replacing and It is in Colorado. I'm trying to get a feel for a value as they aren't well and have moved to assisted living.
