i just started learning guitar, and i’m trying to learn the chords right now. it’s going ok, but should i stick with learning the chords or trying to learn a song? obviously i have to learn the chords to learn a song, but should i learn all the chords before learning a song or just try my luck with a song? sorry if this has been asked before!

Hi, I'm listening to part of this solo, trying to learn it -- I want to make sure I'm playing this correctly. The note on the 14th should be a quick pluck and then a slide down, correct? and the note on 12 in the parenthesis, how should that sound? Thank you in advance for any insight!

I have been playing for about 6 months and this was the first song I learned. I can play the song in its entirety as well as a cover band would, but it doesn’t sound like Jim James and I no matter how many videos I watch in slow motion, or go listen to multiple live versions, I just can’t get it. So I've picked up bits and pieces of Crazy Train on the Guitar over the years.
But I can't get that first sound the main guitar makes before the pic-sliding up the neck.
It sounds like a train whistle, but I think it's 2 notes. Now, he could be turning the volume down, playing the notes, then turning the volume back up before the sound fades. And I think it has distortion in there.
But I can't figure the notes.
Does anyone know what they are?
