Used some soap recently with menthol. Really irritated my face, and I don't really have sensitive skin. I face lathered it, so maybe I just left it on too long or the brush agitation coupled with menthol was too much. Anyone else have this issue ..read more

I have hard water, which I remedy through the use of a water softener. That makes our water great for showering, laundry, and drinking, though it doesn't remove dissolved minerals, and we get some lime deposits.
A good example:
In the winter, I supplement our heat with a wood stove. It's aesthetically pleasing and lowers our gas bill. I have a cast iron bowl that I fill with tap water and place atop our wood stove to add humidity. When the water evaporates it leaves a heavy white crust in...

Hey gent's. So, I've been shaving with an adjustable razor for close to 30 years. I started with a Merkur Progress, and for about the last 15, a Futur. I know the Futur is a very divisive razor, but I love that razor. With Personna CC's or Bic CP's, it's been a one pass razor for me. Recently, I purchased some replacement parts for it because of erosion in the Zamak head (I have a post with pics here.) No big deal I thought, I just purchased the replacement parts, and even purchased a...

Good day all!
Sorry for asking such an obscure question (I’m still floundering in the shallow end of the pool). Lately, I have been reading about and exploring a number of different blades. I ran across a passage that mentioned “hair type” – coarse, tough, fine, thin, etc. I have done a number of googles, but generally come up with shapes and styles of beards.
I have developed my technique so that I mostly get a good shave with a single WTG pass and a few clean up strokes - not searching...

Hello everyone,
while I prefer wet shaving with a DE razor, my skin isn't in it's best condition so I try to do a wet shave once a week only. I want to use an electric razor to trim my beard within that week so it doesn't grow too long, gives me a hard time with the DE razor.
I'm not looking for a BBS shave at all, just something to keep the length in check without irritating my skin further. Price should be max 100€, I don't need anything fancy. But it would be nice if it works for the...
