Outstanding Recalls
Landy Zone

Hi, I know I’ve been busy with the L322 of late and have a take of jobs to do to get the P38 back on the road but I’ve just been told that there are a couple of outstanding recall campaigns on the beastie. Do do A255 or A359 mean anything to any of you ? (Other than them being toads somewhere ) I thought I’d ask before I incur the scorn of my local dealer -who, I think, have no technicians that have ever worked on a P38 ! Cheers Bob ..read more

I have a rough idle on my 3.9V8. I’ve cleaned the stepper motor. Sometimes even shuts off completely on idle. As we're all (sometimes painfully) aware, Land Rovers need more...intense... maintenance compared to your run of the mill hatchback. So a lot of us run a 2nd car, or Back Up Vehicle All my other landys have been my sole daily driver. But I picked up a lovely Disco 2 last year and would like to keep it that way. Plus when I do need to give it some attention, the pressure to get it finished by the end of the weekend would drastically reduce if I had an old snotter I could jump into Monday... Hi I have a 110 xs utility 2008 which I have owned from new.. cracking car and i have replaced everything on it mechanically over the time I’ve owned it using garages as I’m not very mechanically minded..! It’s had a full vinyl wrap for most of its life and the time has come to remove it as bits are starting to rust on the body.. I.e capping that sits between the body and the tub and the post between the front and rear doors. My question is I don’t have much experience in this and I... Read more ..read more

D2 gearbox issues
Landy Zone

Hi everyone, My discovery 2 has got a automatic gearbox issue (big surprise ik) So a while ago i was on a long towing run and 2/3 of the way through the gearbox gave out so i had another one fitted. Now every time it's started the gearbox will not work for a bit. The selector feels normal but with no real feedback like the clunk it normally makes as it engages, no drop in rpm, no response in drive or reverse. Then when it gets warm it's fine, driving as it should (the clunk included) and... Read more ..read more

Hi guys - if you can help - heard clicking when i turn under load and decided to change the right outer drive axel. The new part i got for my Freelander 1.8L petrol 4WD K-series 18K4F engine 86kw 117 hp is confirmed as a fit ! However on changing, i couldn't get the drive axel back into the hub the only way i could get it to go in properly was to take off the grided ring which the ABS is supposed to read for the ABS to work. With it on, i couldn't tight the out axel bolt to the correct... Read more ..read more

Any Series Owners in the Phoenix Area?

Hello Landy Zone! This is my first post. I am a highly hopeful future Land Rover Series IIA 109 owner. I’ve even found one for sale. Trouble is, it is halfway across the country from me. Also, I have never even sat in, let alone drive, a Series Land Rover. On top of that, I am 6’-7” tall and fear that I will never fit behind the wheel. Is there anyone here in the Phoenix area that would be kind enough to let me sit behind the wheel of their Series? Being an empiricist, direct experience... Read more ..read more

I need some help with my 1994 Defender 90 300TDI Engine

Sorry already posted not sure how to delete duplicate Hi my Defender is very sick. Had been running fine besides usual Defender quirks. Several weeks ago it simply decided to die at the roadside. My mechanic recovered my vehicle. Oil is leaking heavily from breather pipe all over engine. Many years ago before I become the owner he had resleeved the cylinders in the engine. Had been good for 6 years with me. He thinks the original engine had been replaced with an engine of unknown... Read more ..read more
