New surveillance video shows the dramatic emergency response outside the Pembroke Pines house where a 2-year-old was murdered allegedly at the hands of her father.
Jeromino Duran, 33, is charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse in what police call the brutal killing of his 2-year-old daughter, Melody, at a home in the 400 block of Southwest 177th Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Ali Kessler didn’t just grieve the murder of her 4-year-old son Greyson at the hands of his father.
She went to work, helping champion a law designed to make it easier for courts to protect children involved in custody and divorce disputes.
“Greyson’s Law” took effect last July, requiring judges – when deciding how to assign parental responsibility – to consider whether they have reasonable cause to believe a child is in imminent danger, even if no criminal charges or convictions have previously resulted.

A Pembroke Pines man accused in the brutal murder of his 2-year-old daughter made his first appearance before a judge Thursday morning.
Jeronimo A. Duran, wearing shackles and a protective vest typically used for inmates who could harm themselves, didn’t speak during the brief appearance in Broward bond court.
Duran, who is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse in his daughter’s killing, was ordered held without bond on the murder charge and given a $500,000 bond on the child abuse charge.

A 911 call released Wednesday revealed the frantic moments after a 2-year-old girl was discovered unconscious before she died allegedly at the hands of her father in Pembroke Pines.
Jeronimo A. Duran, 33, is facing a first-degree murder charge and an aggravated child abuse charge in the murder of Melody Alana Rose Duran on Tuesday.

Melody Alana Rose was just 15 months old when her mother had had enough of living with Jeronimo Anthony Duran.
On March 5, 2023, Melody´s mother, 35, took her daughter and moved out, later claiming in court papers Duran was “erratic, aggressive, violent and dangerous” to her and their daughter.
The warnings came in a custody dispute with Duran, who went to court seeking confirmation of his paternity and shared parental responsibility a month after they moved out of the Pembroke Pines home they shared with his grandmother.

A father arrested in the killing of his 2-year-old daughter in a Pembroke Pines home is facing a first-degree murder charge.
Jeronimo A. Duran, 33, is also facing an aggravated child abuse charge in the toddler’s killing.

A Pembroke Pines man was arrested on a murder charge after a child died from her injuries Tuesday, police said.
Police and paramedics responded to a home at 9:42 a.m. in the 400 block of SW 177th Avenue to a report of an injured child, Pembroke Pines Police said in a news release.
There, they found the 2-year-old bleeding profusely from her neck, police said. She was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, where she later died.

A Pembroke Pines woman was arrested on sex trafficking charges after authorities said she forced multiple women into sex work, giving them heroin and fentanyl to “subdue” them.
Elise Mizrachi, 41, is facing human trafficking and other charges, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody announced Friday.

At the beginning of April, lines at the visitor’s entrance at Century Village had wait times of almost two hours. On Tuesday morning, it was a bit better with a 45-minute wait time.

There was a heavy police presence in a Pembroke Pines neighborhood Tuesday morning as officers executed a search warrant, officials said.
Pembroke Pines Police said officers were the area of 400 Southwest 101st Terrace serving the search warrant.
Chopper 6 was over the scene where a large police presence could be seen. Multiple people appeared to have been taken into custody.
Police posted on X, warning residents about the operation.
According to police, there are no safety concerns at this time.
