After about a year on the wait list my new SSK Contender clone receiver is on its way to my LGS. Should be here early next week. http://www.hausofarms.com/SSK-50-FRA...NX_p_4308.html I also have my dealer working on getting me a new Inglis High Power in color case hardened finish. I had seen pictures but was able to see and handle two of them at the NRA Meetings and Exhibits. They are absolutely gorgeous and trigger and operation are equal or better than my original Belgian Browning that has been worked over by a famous Hi Power gunsmith. Should come in at around $650. My dealer is excited to ..read more

The linkage between the lower receiver and the grip
The Firing Line Forums

I'm surprised to realize that the grip on my AR-15 is simply connected to the lower receiver through a hex screw. Is that a really dependable way of doing things? I'm very worried that the grip will fall off when I need the gun to defend myself :D As you know, handguns normally would either have a metal skeleton underneath the grip, or a polymer grip integrated to the lower half of the gun, thus boasting a much stronger connection. It's crazy that the lower receiver does not have an integrated 7075-T6 skeleton designed for the grip ..read more

What's the appeal of fancy triggers?

It seems that people are willing to spend a lot of money on triggers. I only have LWRC and Daniel Defense rifles and can not speak for other brands, but I think the stock triggers are just fine. I've seen LaRoe MBT-2S in the local store. That thing seems to be of excellent quality already. Why would people be willing to spend 3 times as much on the triggers ..read more

Hey , much to learn about handguns ... even for a 54 year old longtime bowhunter , shotgun and muzzeloader deer hunter . I'm in MD so its been quite a journey to purchase my first handgun . I started in March , and just yesterday got to take possession of a new CANIK TP9 Elite SC , blackout edition. Why CANIK ? ......... I shot several brand pistols' in classes and qualifications and i like it best , shot with it best , good utube reviews and price. Anyway i am sort of an old novice and will probl have questions ! Is there a brand specific area on this forum , or just drop questions here ? T ..read more

Just ordered a ruger 380 lcp max, and since I have no bullets for it I was wondering if there are those in the community that reload for that caliber. I know the ammunition seems pricey to me and am unsure of the current availability. Also if you have a favorite load I would appreciate you sharing it. Thanks Micro Man ..read more

Old Rossi snubnose identification

Greetings. This is my first post here, and it's a long one. I have inherited an old Rossi 38 Special snubnose 5 shot revolver. Blued finish, 1 3/4" barrel stamped on left "AMADEO ROSSI & CIA" over "SAO LEOPOLDO R. S." to the best I can make out, and ".38 SPECIAL" on the right. On the right side frame is stamped "MADE IN BRAZIL" over "FIREARMS INT'L CORP" over "WASHINGTON, D.C." and "IND. BRAS. MARC. REG." around a stylized Rossi. The cylinder release is a slide button with concentric circles in a concave pattern. The cylinder frame is stamped 759 with a K above, and the same characters a ..read more
