Adjacent to this topic, and I don't want to start a "new topic", especially as this is a trivial observation/ query. Alone, Australia (TV series/ franchise) is at a lake in Fiordland this current season; and I'm positive I'm hearing Saddlebacks in the background. Initially, I thought it was like foly-type added noise for the ambiance, but occasionally it's seeming faint and "organic"... this seems outside of known Saddleback range(?) [Early on there's participants' narration over the NZ-shot video, and there's Lorikeet et al noises, with are a little jarring too, but obviously audio that was ..read more

NZ Bird Atlas complete - news release The New Zealand Bird Atlas project finishes at midnight today (Friday 31 May 2024) after running for five years (2019-2024). This is one of the largest community science projects in Aotearoa New Zealand coordinated on behalf of Birds New Zealand by Wildlife Management International Ltd. There may be nothing weird about these deaths as the birds have travelled a long way/could be young/might be starving and such.
