The Sixers have been rumored to be interested in trading for former Sixer Jimmy Butler should he want to leave the Miami Heat. Butler’s departure from Philly back in 2019 is arguably one of the biggest what-ifs in Sixers’ history. Butler’s return has pros and cons, such as the cost of bringing him here. But does a reunion with Butler make sense for the Sixers? Pros Playoff Jimmy is a real thing; we should know that. Butler constantly rises to the challenge in the brightest lights. Since he departed from Philadelphia, he has led Miami to the Eastern Conference Finals in three of his five season ..read more

Sixers Undervalue Draft Picks Too Much
Philadelphia Sports Nation » Philadelphia 76ers

After the 2021 draft, the Sixers made a whopping ZERO draft picks that are on the teams. In 2022, they drafted David Roddy (who instantly went to Memphis), and then in 2023, they did not make a selection. In recent years, this front office has completely overlooked the importance of the NBA draft, where solid players can be found for a very reasonable price. Failing to Make Good Picks Part of me can’t blame the front office for undervaluing draft picks, given how unsuccessful they’ve drafted when they do make picks. Whether it’s trading Mikal Bridges for Zhaire Smith or drafting Markelle Fultz ..read more

Number 0’s Value? Sign Him, Don’t Process Him. Tyrese Maxey Is the Best Thing That the 76ers Have Going. When it comes to effort on the court, no one does it better than number 0. Tyrese Maxey has always given it his all. Perhaps he has never had to give more than during this season. Last week, in Game 6 of the NBA Playoffs against the New York Knicks, the Sixers were down six with 28 seconds left. After making a four-point play, Maxey hit a three with 8.1 seconds left to lift the game into overtime. They would eventually win the game 112–106. Maxey finished with 46 points. Tyrese had been her ..read more

Another year, another heartbreak. The Sixers have officially entered the offseason, and there are critical decisions that need to be made about the direction this organization is heading in. One thing is for sure: Daryl Morey is equipped with plenty of cap space to make moves to build around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. Here’s a look at the Sixers who should and shouldn’t return, what other moves they need to make, and more. Who Goes and Who Stays?  The Sixers will probably look like a completely different team next season. The only players under contract for the 2024-25 season are Joel ..read more

Another Sixers Season Ends. This Time Because of Lancaster Ave. PHOTO: Wiki Commons If you are looking to turn around your NBA franchise after an extended period of subpar play, look no further than one of the country’s best national college basketball programs. The Villanova Wildcats, who won National Championships in 2016 and 2018 — as well as a Final Four appearance in 2009. For nearly seven years before Tom Thibodeau took over as coach in 2020, the New York Knicks were operating at the bottom of the Atlantic Division. Then, something happened during their rebuild. The Maxey Miracle Extends Sixers’ Season

Tyrese Maxey stepped up on the biggest stage at the biggest time. After what looked like another disappointing season finale, Maxey miraculously scored seven points in the last 30 seconds of the game to force the Knicks into overtime. The Sixers pulled out on top to steal a game in New York. Deja Vu? All Sixers fans probably felt the same way entering the last minute of the Sixers’ game. When Mcbride hit the free throw line jumper with 30 seconds left, plenty of Sixers fans probably turned their TVs off and reflected on another early exit from the playoffs with another uninspired performance f ..read more

PREVIEW – Playoffs (Rd 1, Gm 3): Sixers in a Do-or-Die Game 3 vs. New York

After a terrible, terrible loss on Monday, the Sixers look to rebound against the Knicks in a do-or-die situation. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in playoff history, and the Sixers most likely won’t become the first to do so. Forget Last Game The refs messed up, but the refs mess up all the time! Great players and great teams don’t make excuses – they battle through and win the game. If the Sixers come out tonight with Monday’s game left in their minds, they will lose. Doing so means they will complain more about fouls, and we will see the mopey/frustrated version of Joel Embiid ..read more

With the regular season over, the Sixers’ road to the Finals starts this Wednesday against the Heat in the play-in tournament. Since Embiid’s return, the Sixers have gone 8-0, including two games without Embiid. It’s no secret that he brings a boost to this team. As long as he can stay healthy, they have a shot at making a serious run. How’s the Knee? In a game against the Orlando Magic a few days ago, all Sixers fans had a scare. After driving to the basket and getting his own rebound, Embiid, wincing in pain, asked for a timeout and immediately headed to the locker room. Everyone watching pr ..read more
