It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday. It feels like just yesterday, I was starting my earring boutique. I was excited, driven and ready to slay all the girls with beautiful earrings. God had other plans for me though. Maybe, I shouldn't say that because for 3 whole years my earring boutique was life to me. And I loved it.... And God blessed my lil business. I've always been a BIG earring lover. Once upon a time, I even handmade earrings. So, I didn't just pull this idea out of the sky. I thought selling earrings would be a great business and it was. Question is, did I ever consult God on ..read more

Whew Chile, it’s been a minute since I’ve done this. The year of 2022 brought me through hell and high water, ya hear me. I’d been so consumed that I had to take a step back from writing on my own platform. Writing will forever be my love, but sometimes priorities come slap you in the face and you have to choose. I ain’t gonna lie, it goes down in the inbox though. If you are not on my email list I suggest you join Sis. I haven’t written a blog post in a very long time, but every Monday I slide in my tribe’s inbox with a word. I feel like I’m back in my bag now though. As I start 2023 I decide ..read more

For the last few days I have been trying to find the word(s) to describe the feelings and emotions that are traveling through my body. I think I have finally deciphered what that word is. STRUGGLE. The struggle is real. I am safe, yet I am struggling. I am struggling with my sanity right now. I am struggling to find the balance of consuming too much information. I am struggling to get on social media and also struggling to not get on social media. Same with the news. Like I wanna know what is going on, but then I am consumed by the reality of it all. The struggle is real. I am struggling to ph ..read more

Last week we talked about self love and this week we are going to hit another pain point; self doubt. According to Webster doubt is defined as a lack of confidence in, to call into question the truth of, to be uncertain, to consider unlikely, and it can even mean fear. It is 2021 and we are not about to let doubt stop us from being great. Doubt yourself? Sis don’t do that. I am Sis and Sis is me. I have been trying my hardest to be great , but Chile let me tell you. The struggle is real and the doubt is even realer. Sometimes I feel like I have taken on more than I can bear. I be like, “who do ..read more

Love Yourself Sis

It hit me hard when Mary J. Blige said “ How can I love somebody else, when I can’t love myself enough to know when it’s time, time to let go?” Chile listen! Mary J was talking about a bad relationship, but when you really think about it we can apply this to any part of our lives. What are you holding on to that doesn’t love you and ultimately shows you just how much you don’t love yourself? Ouch! I know right I felt the same way as these words rang through my ears this week. This song has always been a bop, but when I listened with my heart this time around I heard the words differently. How ..read more

Feeling Myself

I made a promise to myself that in this good ole year 2021 I was leaving fear, doubt and negative thoughts in the past. It’s time for me to “feel” every part of myself. For way too long I have allowed thing after thing to permit me to hide behind the goals, plans and visions God has given me. It’s go time now and in the words of the great teedy, Maxine Waters, “I’m reclaiming my time.” Ques music…. via GIPHY In my best Beyonce’ voice, “I’m feeling myself, I’m feeling myself, I’m feeling my….” It’s personal this year y’all. I am making myself more available to God so that I can hear Him clearl ..read more

Self Care or Just Selfish?
IV GREY BLOG

I want to try something a little different this week. Let’s have a healthy discussion with no judgement. Don’t bite my head off at the title, hear me out. I am a self care advocate. I strongly believe that you can not pour from an empty cup. Issa fact. But, I feel like the imaginary line in the sand needs to be drawn. Is there a difference between self care and just plain ole selfishness? A friend of mine and I had a conversation recently about this. We are both wives, mothers, employees and entrepreneurs. We are so busy that busy ain’t even the word anymore. I don’t know about her but there a ..read more

2020 has been one hell of a year to say the least. Everything unimaginable has happened. As this year started I was feeling really good about it. I made my vision board, I set attainable goals, and positioned myself to win all 2020. Then one thing after another came to interrupt my victory process. It all started when we lost the legendary Kobe and Gigi. Like how Kobe Bryant die? It all seemed like some scary dream, but it was real. All real! Then it seemed that one domino after another just started to fall. My husband and I lost a good friend of ours, then the world entered a PANDEMIC! Once t ..read more

Everyone has that place that they go to to think and unwind. That place for me is the shower. It’s where I do my most thinking, praising, and praying. Most of my best ideas have come to me while immersed under water. Most people find their peace on the porcelain throne, but for me there are too many distractions there. I can search Pinterest or scroll IG, but in the shower I’m all alone with no distractions. No phone, no books to read, just me and my thoughts. I said all that to say get you a place Sis. Find you a place where you can do your best thinking, give God your best praise, cry your u ..read more
