ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — An Indianapolis man was shot and killed by Madison County deputies after they tried to serve an arrest warrant on him Saturday night.
Indiana State Police in a release identified the man as 44-year-old Lataurus Harrison.
Around 9 p.m. Saturday, Madison County Sheriff’s Department deputies were trying to serve an arrest warrant to Harrison at the request of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. It was unclear what Harrison was wanted for.
Deputies found Harrison sitting in a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 1600 block of Fairview Street.

Greenwood hosts annual Pride festival
GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) — Greenwood Indiana Pride Inc., a nonprofit aimed at promoting visibility for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community in the city, hosted its annual Pride festival on Saturday.
The free event kicked off the start of Pride Month, and featured six hours of live entertainment, 175 vendors, 23 drag artists, bounce houses, face painting, and a host of food options.

CORYDON, Ind. (WISH) — A female pedestrian was struck and killed by a semitruck early Saturday morning on I-64 eastbound near the Lanesville exit.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Harrison County authorities requested assistance with a crash involving a truck and a pedestrian on I-64 at the Lanesville exit. When troopers and officers arrived, they found an unresponsive female pedestrian in the roadway between the Lanesville exit and the Crandall/Lanesville Road overpass.
The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Person shot, killed at northwest side home off West 30th Street
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A female was found shot dead inside a home on Indianapolis’ northwest side Saturday morning, police say.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers were called to a home in the 3000 block of Skylar Drive around 7:15 a.m. on a report that someone had been shot. They later found the scene in the nearby 3000 block of Armory Drive.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person was found shot dead inside a home on Indianapolis’ northwest side Saturday morning, police say.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says officers were called to a home in the 3000 block of Skylar Lane around 7:15 a.m. on a report that someone had been shot.
That’s in a residential area off West 30th Street and North White River Parkway East Drive.
They arrived to find a person inside a house suffering a gunshot wound. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD: Police exchange gunfire with suspect in downtown Indy; no injuries reported
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis police say no one was injured when an officer exchanged gunfire with a suspect in downtown Indy early Saturday morning.
Ofc. Tommy Thompson, a public information officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, told News 8 that the shooting unfolded around 3:20 a.m. Saturday.
IMPD officers were patrolling Georgia and Meridian streets downtown when they heard gunshots. They scouted the area to search for the person shooting and any possible victims.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The drama of the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 drives on to Detroit as IndyCar dished out penalties to two drivers Friday.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyffin Simpson both received grid penalties for Sunday’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix for “unapproved engine changes” during the Indy 500. Both will start six positions behind wherever they qualify.
