If you keep track of the sales charts, you know that the Toyota Innova Hycross is undisputed as the leader in its segment. In general, there's nothing in the segment that can match the usability factor of the Hycross. It has 2 powertrains on offer - a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 5th Generation Self-Charging Strong Hybrid Electric System. The 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine makes 173 BHP @ 6,600 rpm and 209 Nm @ 4,500-4,900 rpm. The strong hybrid powertrain has a 2.0-litre petrol engine that works with a 168-cell Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) Battery and a motor to make 184 BHP @ 6,600 rpm ..read more

Hello Team-BHP Family, I'm confused about what career path I should choose and would like to hear your advice on the following. I'm graduating with a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE). It was always my dream to work in the field of EEE and establish a career in it. But in 2024, there is a drop in placements in tier 3 colleges all over India. Despite the dips in placements, I got an offer for a business analyst(procurement) in a company located in Hyderabad. The company mainly works in the fields of oil, and gas, procurement of material logistics, and so on. Additionally ..read more

California could replace gasoline tax with mileage-based tax for cars; Pilot program in August

According to media reports, the increasing number of EVs on the roads of California has started causing a dent in the state's budget. The state charges $300 a year as gasoline tax for its ICE-powered vehicles, while EVs just pay a $100 annual registration fee. This has started to result in a major dent in the funds collected, used for the road's maintenance. Hence, the state has decided to replace the 'gasoline tax' with a new mileage-based tax system to offset the losses. As per officials, the state recorded 1.1 million electric cars and 1.3 million hybrids, back in 2022. Attachment 2611795 ..read more

Should I get a low running 8 year old Swift with a service history gap as my first car?

As my used car search journey continued, I came across an 8 year old petrol Swift VXI that has a noticably low running of 14-15,000 odd kilometers. With two owners to it's credit. Fishy, eh? Upon speaking to the dealer, turns out that the service history ends five years ago. After that, the new owner who used to stay somewhere else didn't get a chance to drive it much really. Not that I find his words credible, I don't have the know how to determine a low running car. I did check his reviews, and they seem great. As usual, whenever I am in doubt I turn to this forum, as I believe it has the ..read more

According to a media report, Toyota is working on ways to keep IC engines alive in the future. The Japanese carmaker is reluctant to give up on IC engines entirely, as it feels the future of motoring will be a mix of powertrains. In markets which are not ready to shift to electrification entirely, Toyota wants to offer small combustion engines powered by synthetic fuels. To meet this demand, the company has partnered with Subaru and Mazda to co-develop small ICE powertrains. Mr. Hazela replaces our forum's fan favourite Mr. Aditya Jairaj. Forum members may have fond memories of Mr Jairaj, who won us over with his electrifying corporate-speak when he first took over. https://youtu.be/DIQYHf_lQc8?si=GnB3i6O2J8AUh7zi Sales of the Jeep brand have remained low. Mr. Hazela, if you're reading this, fret not. Please allow me to present a consumer's perspective on how to Make Jeep Great Again! 1. The Compass is a very competent vehicle. It is better to drive than the XUV 700 and is more electronically sorted than the Harrier twins. So, we love the Compass. But, we don ..read more

Which aftermarket suspension brands to use for an overhaul? Monroe Vs Gabriel Vs others

Hi everyone! I have been facing issues with my car's suspension. It's a Honda Amaze S Diesel (2013) model. The suspension seems fine on plain roads but very noisy on bumpy roads. I visited two local garages and Honda ASC as well. They all suggested a suspension kit replacement. I'm assuming it means the struts and the springs. Honda ASC's estimate is around 36k, while local mechanics suggested to try aftermarket struts like Monroe or Gabriel. They also said Monroe is the actual OE parts manufacturer for Honda (not sure if this is true). I checked Monroe's product catalog, it doesn't have Amaz ..read more
