Saturday evening starts with building clouds, but we stay dry through midnight. As a frontal boundary moves closer, we'll start to see our first rounds of showers arrive during the early morning hours on Sunday. Any rain showers will stay relatively light and the added cloud cover will see our temps drop into the 50s. Sunday says goodbye to high pressure as a frontal boundary arrives from the west. Meth labs are virtually obsolete, but abuse of methamphetamine remains a danger

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) -- In the late 1990's and early 2000's, the stimulant methamphetamine was new to southern West Virginia, and dealers were making it in residential neighborhoods from commonly used cold medicines. The so-called labs presented an explosion risk and required professional clean-up. Beckley Police Lieutenant Jason McDaniel explained on Friday, May 31, 2024, that meth labs are no longer a problem, but methamphetamine use is still rampant in southern West Virginia. Tonight features partly cloudy skies and it's not as cold with temperatures dipping back into the upper 40s. There is no risk of frost tonight even in the mountains. Saturday continues the nice weather, however, with high pressure shifting off to the east, we’ll pick up a southerly breeze that will crank temperatures to near 80 degrees.
