Detectives are searching for clues in a cold case after a body was found in a wooded area of Riverside County.
The victim was identified as Juan Gomez Figueroa by the Riverside Police Department.
Figueroa was last seen in late February 2020. He was reported missing several months later in May.
In June 2020, a man’s body was found in a wooded area of a river bottom in Jurupa Valley behind the 5400 block of Riverview Drive.

A Riverside County family was arrested in connection with a series of thefts targeting stores across Southern California.
The suspects, all residents of Jurupa Valley, were identified by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department as:
Thomas Balandran, 50
Sherri Alvarez, 48
Brianna Balandran, 19
Unidentified juvenile, 17
On April 24, deputies responded to a business in Temecula where theives attempted to steal over $1,000 worth of merchandise.

Multiple firearms were found in a home in Riverside County after a 12-year-old middle school student allegedly threatened his classmates.
Deputies responded to a reported threat at Jurupa Middle School at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
After responding to the alleged threats, an investigation at a home on the 5000 block of Baldwin Avenue in Jurupa Valley turned up three assault rifles, a handgun and several hundred rounds of ammunition, authorities said.

One person was killed and another was hospitalized after being shot while sitting inside their vehicles in Riverside County.
The suspect was identified as Louis Hernandez by the California Highway Patrol.
On Nov. 26, California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of shots fired at the Mission Boulevard Park and Ride in Jurupa Valley around 9:38 a.m.
Arriving officers found a woman who had been shot while sitting inside a silver 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A wind-driven brush fire erupted near the 15 Freeway in Jurupa Valley, prompting officials to close the northbound and southbound lanes Thursday morning.
The blaze, dubbed the Landon Fire, was first reported at 5:30 a.m. in the 11000 block of Landon Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters were at the scene of the 7-acre blaze, which prompted the freeway to be closed between Limonite Avenue and Cantu-Galleano Ranch road, the fire department tweeted just after 6:30 a.m.

Crews are battling a wildfire that erupted in Jurupa Valley on Wednesday afternoon.
The Oak Fire was first reported in the 7100 block of Sierra Avenue around 2:02 p.m. according to the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.
The flames quickly charred 35 acres of light, "flashy" fuels. Around 4:30 p.m., crews were able to stop all forward spread of the blaze. Around 7 p.m., 40 percent containment was reported.

As rainfall hit Southern California, the wet weather created treacherous conditions including flooded roads, destructive mudslides and a spike in water rescues.

The Chino City Council is stepping up its criticism of San Bernardino Superior Court Judge Cara D. Hutson, who lowered the bail for the man accused of later killing Riverside County Sheriff's Department Deputy Isaiah Cordero in a Jurupa Valley traffic stop.

Parents are calling for action after video captured the brutal beating of a teen at a high school in Jurupa Valley.
The video shows a group of teens hitting and kicking another boy as he’s curled up on the ground.

Surveillance video captured the frantic and ultimately unsuccessful effort to help a Riverside County Sheriff's deputy who was shot and killed in Jurupa Valley, California on Thursday.
