Normal Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC) in Richardson remains suspended as crews the City continues cleanup efforts after severe weather recently impacted the community. BABIC crews are working with CrowderGulf to help clear the debris. People looking to remove storm-related vegetative debris should continue placing all material on their street right-of-way for pickup, making sure cars are parked away from piles of debris to help the large hauler trucks move quickly. FEMA Opens Disaster Recovery Centers in Richardson, Garland

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that the agency has opened Disaster Recovery Centers in Dallas County, located in Richardson and Garland, to provide one-on-one help to Texans affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding and straight-line winds that occurred April 26-June 5. Debris Haulers Progress on Storm Collection Schedule

Debris haulers estimate they are 45 percent complete with collecting massive amounts of storm-related vegetative debris created when sustained hurricane force winds struck Richardson, and other North Texas communities, during a May 28 severe weather event. Parks crews continue to stay busy across the city working to clear debris from trails and common areas in Richardson’s parks. The City Council voted to amend Richardson’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance Monday to include a section detailing new bicycle parking standards that will apply to new non-residential and apartment construction and building expansions. At Monday’s City Council meeting, the City Council approved a resolution to reappoint former Richardson Mayor Gary Slagel to represent Richardson on the Board of Directors for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).
