A Southern California man was arrested on suspicion of numerous child sex crimes. The suspect was identified as Damien Gieng, 26, according to the Chino Hills Police Department. On May 21, police began investigating reports of “inappropriate sexual incidents” between a 16-year-old girl and Gieng. Detectives learned the girl met and communicated with Gieng on social media. In the city of Pomona, a silver Honda Accord struck a woman and killed a 6-year-old girl as they were crossing the street. The collision occurred around 8:02 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the corner of Towne and Lexington Avenue. According to Pomona Police Department's Aly Mejia, officers responded to a call and found the two pedestrians lying on the street. Two people were hospitalized after the car they were traveling in slammed into the side of a medical building and overturned in Pomona Monday night. A reward is being offered in the search for the suspect who shot and killed a teenager at a party in Pomona. The victim was identified as Christian Ramirez, 19, by the Pomona Police Department.  On Friday, Sept. 23, 2023, Ramirez attended a party on the 1500 block of E. First Street at around 10:40 p.m., he was shot and killed by an unknown suspect. A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian in Pomona that occurred less than 90 minutes into the new year. Isabella Ortega was taken into custody on Tuesday, a day after the death of 23-year-old Khailyn Garcia Sanchez, the Pomona Police Department said in a news release.
