According to reports from the San Diego Union-Tribune, the fire chief of the Cosumnes Fire Department is a finalist for the city of San Diego Fire Department chief. The three finalists are Cosumnes Fire Chief Felipe Rodriguez, Baryic Hunter of the Orange County Fire Authority, and San Diego Fire Department Deputy Chief Robert Logan. The trio is vying to replace retiring chief Colin Stowell. According to the report, an online petition with over 1,000 signatures is urging San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria to select Logan. The Elk Grove Unified School District will be adding electric school buses to its fleet thanks to a federal grant for California school districts.  On Wednesday the the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announced recipients of the 2023 Clean School Bus Program rebate competition.
